got to give the reds credit here. their season was on the ropes. if they lose game 2 tonight their season is over.

alzolay couldn't be perfect for ever.

now sort of in a bind next two games. if they won tonight it would have made it easier on ross.

cubs too many LOB. should have scored at least 2 firs two innings when their starter was wild.

In honor of Frankie acting like he won the super bowl as the cubs lost one game while his team might not bust 62 wins this season...

Relax, Sox blew it
Eloy can't field for shit
Relax, Sox blew it
Can't win and fans knew it
Relax, Sox blew it
Noone wants to come... no one wants to come....

Relax, can't do it,
Tony can't stay awake thru it
Relax, Sox blew it,
Anderson with no hit
Sox are total bums.... Sox are total bums...

Relax Frankie. Worry about ya sawx.

I like we are back to the old time board. Celebrating the other baseball team’s losses.

the cubs network told us that alzolay is an elite closer - one of 3 in the division. very good year, but he's not williams on the brewers. swanson's bat has gone cold...more than a few ABs where he didn't move over a runner on 2nd with no one out or as last night, struck out with bases loaded and 1 out in the first inning. we could have used at least a sac fly RBI after the reds' 9th inning. looks like swanson needs a day or two off, i'm thinking that ross hopes he finds his second wind on his own and fast. great to see wesneski dominate on some wicked breaking stuff and then throwing 99 mph fastballs. 6 Ks in 3.1 innings. will probably get the next spot start. if cubs make the playoffs as a wild card, will still need as many starters as possible.

Relax. The loss hurts. The team usually responds well to these things. I bet they put up seven or more today.

I don't see Taillon on a playoff roster as of his current status.

Even if Stroman doesn't come back, the earliest he would get a start is Game 1 of a NLDS - they only need three starters for the first round. If they win the first two in the wild card round and avoid game 3, they wouldn't need him until probably Game 4 of the NLDS.

And let's face it, if they face the Braves in the NLDS they will probably get swept and it'll be all hands on deck in Game 4 so Taillon will only get once through the order

anyone who's watched baseball knows Alzolay is not in the same class as Williams or Diaz or Bednar. Everytime he goes out there you're rolling the dice. Even in last nights game, when you saw how good the Reds hitters were hitting off him you had that feeling he won't close this one out.

To his credit he's done the job but he's not someone who's lights out. If it wasn't for the Tauchman catch vs the Cards, he blows that game on a walk off hr too.

Anyway, when you get the Reds starter to pitch 37 pitches in the first and score zero runs you don't deserve to win.

How is it a punt lineup? Because Wisdom is in?

It’s going to be funny to watch Bob’s head explode if the Cubs can somehow catch Milwaukee and win the division, Ross will be your manager of the year.

the cubs baseball think-tank network didn't even have bednar amongst it's 'elite' closers in the division.
