Shocking that a head coach who had a HOF player at middle linebacker would benefit on defense. Cyber GM Bob strikes again!

I'm not going to defend the guy's job like Nas, he took this job and he talked face to face with Ryan Poles. If he couldn't suss out what a trainwreck this was going to be he deserves what is coming.

But on the other hand, he has less talent to work with than a good-not-great college program. There's simply no shred of hope for success on that side of the ball. This is why some stupid Bears fans who still think Poles is a genius think the Bears are tanking. Nobody goes into the off-season with a defensive line full of players who wouldn't even merit a scholarship at Georgia or Bama then blows the largest cap space in the league on off-ball linebackers.

Some idiot (Seacrest?) suggested that Tremaine Edmunds would be Eberflus' Urlacher. I didn't notice either high priced linebackers Sunday. Guys like Lance Briggs and Peanut Tillman didn't really blossom until Lovie came in.

And I take that back, I did notice TJ Edwards, sucking wind trying to catch Aaron Jones on that 55 yard TD run. He must have also participated in Flus' Club Med this summer.

Last season, Edmunds' 86.9 coverage grade was the third-best among off-ball linebackers, per Pro Football Focus. Edmunds forced an incompletion on 10.3 percent of targets and allowed just four explosive receptions, per PFF.

Edmunds' athleticism and coverage ability make him an ideal option to start at the WILL linebacker spot in Eberflus' Tampa 2 scheme,

I'm not sure where that quote is from Bob, but he can also play MIKE and cover the middle of the field like Urlacher once did.

We will all wait and see

I hate to break this to you, but he's no Urlacher, even though he's getting paid like it.

Didn't say that we was Bob.

You are pushing hard for most miserable SOB here.

Puts you in some pretty rare company.

Its not even luxury floors. Its just worthless. It's like using real money to load up on monopoly money. I do think there will be a day where the off-ball linebacker and runningback positions will come back into vogue, but it won't be moron Ryan Poles and this pushover coach who usher in that era.

Tampa is going to blitz all day Sunday.

It could be a long day for Fields.

Watching NFL games early really shows how flaccid Ebeflus is on defense, teams are bringing pressure all day long, seems that NFL DC's realize that the league wide approach of sitting offensive players in pre-season leads to some rust and miscommunication on the offensive line and they are exploiting that weakness.

Teams are unknowingly losing early games because they are behind the curve and are simply copying what they think is the new and improved way to do things, but the good teams with smart coaches have already moved on to the next level, guys like Nagy and Eberflus get exposed early and often in this league, it does seem more like an organizational thing where dumb owners pick the wrong GM's and coaches regularly as they are baffled by BS and goofy stuff like "The HITS Principle".

Strong offensive and defensive lines are never not in vogue. They can make bums at other positions, including coach, look competent.

With all the talk the Bears are doing this week about what they didn’t do against Green Bay, I would just double cover DJ Moore ( because they’re going to try and force feed him the ball this week) and then blitz the shit out of Fields .

I know it’s Bowles’ thing but why bother blitzing Fields that much? He can’t throw downfield but he can escape pass rushers in the backfield.

The guy who runs DaBearsBlog seems connected with people in the Bears organization, so this tweet is kind of interesting.

Is George already getting fed up with what appears to be a faltering rebuild? If so, will this frustration have any impact on the team in the near term?

Don't make George angry. You wouldn't like George when he’s angry.

Or happy. Or sad. Or really ever. Guy is just very unlikeable irrespective of his mood is what I’m getting at.

If that defense sucks Sunday, there won't be a panic button big enough to push.

I don't think he's Trey Burton. It's likely the health of someone in his immediate family.

Unless it's a spouse or child, the absence is unacceptable. I'd be more mad but his replacement is probably just as good

Yes, Kap and others also reported that the 9 QB pressures were imaginary.

Nate Davis sucks, but the media that reported his laziness was some sketchy Twitter dude’s story that everybody treated as gospel.

It's weird how they sink their fangs in athletes and then create an echo chamber with false and circumstantial information. It's all content driven.

Bears’ beat guys didn’t exactly disabuse the fan base of that notion.

Another failure from the legacy media. Nate Davis has been treated very unfairly by the dishonest fake news media.
