I predict you will get as much from Home Depot as you did from Barraco's.

That won't help his case.

Whichever TV attorney is the one with the commercial where he for some reason insisted on the final shot be him putting on an ill-fitting trilby, call that guy.

Actually it is. The majority of our general liability claims are due to customer slip and falls. Normally it takes some sort of negligence like a wet floor or unsalted ice patch. But if you fall on a business’ property, you probably have a claim for injuries.

Just put in a claim and HD will let its insurer handle the liability.

If am employee gets hurt, it is workers comp. That is shakes speciality I believe. That is no fault system generally.

The guy who intersperses comments about his charitable giving with people getting hit by semi-trucks?

yep, my firm specializes in work comp AND personal injury.

I would highly recommend hiring an attorney before contacting HD and submitting a claim. let the attorney make the claim for you. The absolute worst thing you can do as a claimant is report the claim to the insurance company and then submit for a recorded statement.

If there is one thing that our union drills into our head is that if you get hurt at work , DO NOT make a written or oral statement to any company officer without a union rep or an attorney there .

sounds like you have a good Union. Unfortunately, there are some crappy Union and Union reps out there. Some are even in bed with management or too scared/weak to stand up to management which is just as bad.

Same goes for Personal injury. Never agree to give a recorded statement to the insurance company under any circumstances. Your attorney is more than capable of calling the insurance company and telling them exactly what happened in the accident.

worst part is is it they’ll try and get a statement from you immediately after whatever incident happened. A lot of guys are either too stupid or think that management is on your side and theyre just trying to get the story out. You can sabotage your entire claim if you say the wrong thing or even subject yourself to being discipline/ fired over it. All you have to do is tell them you’re not feeling up to it because of the accident and you’re going to wait to give a statement until you’re feeling better
