Not the roided Canadian…Detroit’s OC (who should’ve gotten a job last year).

Be innovative. Launch Flus now, hire Johnson today. Give him a head start with the roster absent competition from other dogshit franchises looking for new leadership.

The guy keeps the team from collapsing into a Dan Campbell meatheaded nothingness.

The second he’s gone that team will collapse.

There's too much talent on offense

Sounds like a reason to name him a head coach.

What exactly has their offense done that is impressive?

Dude has never been a head coach anywhere. And you think he is the answer for the Bears.

Sorry if I am skeptical.

Top 5 offense last year with Jared Goff and no notable skill players.

That team wins because of offense; the defense blows.

St Brown is one of the best WR"s in football. Hockenson is sold, and Williams/Swift are good. He has a wall in front of him too.

Isn't Hockenson in Minnesota now?

NFL Pedro Grifol certainly would be the most perfect fit here

Yeah, they traded him at the deadline.

ASB was a 4th round pick with no hype.

Hockonson is a great player…who they traded away without hurting the offense. Swift is a nice player. He’s gone. Monty’s in and the ball keeps rolling. They scored 31 today and lost.

Changing around the chairs on the Titanic I think. Nothing will change unless the personnel issues are solved, including QB. Fields should have been benched today. Not sure how a HC will fix that. Poles is sucking at making this team better.

I very much don’t realize it can’t be done, though acknowledge it won’t be done.

Johnson isn’t an indentured servant and it’s not a lateral move. I’m not sure if that’s disallowed.

Detroit would need to grant special permission for this to happen, which they obviously wouldn't do. Interviews can't take place until after the conclusion of the regular season.

These are the current rules:

Quote:
The NFL has adjusted the rules over the years, but starting in January 2023, teams cannot interview a head-coaching candidate who is employed by another NFL team until at least the third day after the conclusion of that team’s Week 18 game. If a team plays their final game on Saturday, the third day would be the following Tuesday. If a team plays their final game on Sunday, the third day would be the following Wednesday.

I have to say, though, there's something unintentionally hilarious about the board's biggest DeSantis supporter pushing for the Bears to "do something bold" by pushing to hire....the offensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions.

Art of the deal.

Don’t confuse difficult with impossible. Offer up a platter of Fields & Getsy & Ginny for Johnson.

What can I say, I like Johnson.

He’s competently administered an NFL offense and I have a thing for competent administration.

They should start be replacing Getz and bringing in a new OC. Getz couldn't play call a Pop Warner game.

Go crawling to Ann Arbor this January, with your check book and make this thing happen. Maybe Warren with his Big 10 connections gets it done this time.

George predictively hires the wrong guy every single time, favors guys he feels are safe and will not hold players accountable, no strong leaders types that may say things to upset George in meetings.

Nagy was obviously very good at fetching cheeseburgers for Andy Reid and continues to excel in that role.

Still do not see why they hired Eberfuls, his defensive is two to five years behind the league and his OC excelled in his previous role of fetching coffee for Aaron Rodgers, and will likely excel in a similar role in the future somewhere else.

Really hoping that Warren will steer him toward a Flores type HC, a guy that will get after his players and coaches a more modern attacking style of defense.

They will have a rare window to grab a quality HC/GM next year given the amount of draft capital and cap room available.

Poles took over the worst roster in the NFL and made the idiotic decision to start building from the defensive backfield inward rather than building both lines first, no NFL team would start the season with Justin Jones at DT and Lucas Patrick at C, any other GM would have brought in a veteran center to make the line calls and overpaid for a quality DT to at least hold the point of attack on D. GM's that think they can outsmart the league do not last long, but you have to cut bait on Poles because another inept offseason will put the franchise back another 3-5 years.
