David Bahktiari was a 4th round pick.

Love owning football simpletons like Seacrest

https://www.nfl.com/news/2022-all-pro-t ... ght-roster
1st team

Left Tackle Trent Williams - First Round Pick
Right Tackle Lane Johnson - First Round Pick

2nd Team -
Left Tackle Andrew Thomas - First Round Pick
Right Tackle -Tristan Wirfs - First Round Pick

Now I'm sure one of you losers will pull up an example of UDFA Jason Peters, but that is the extreme exception to the rule. The fact REMAINS the best tackles in the NFL are taken high in the draft.

The Cowboys just gave an undrafted tackle a huge extension. Generally speaking, most studs at every position come in early rounds. That said, the best GMs find a starter in 30% of their picks. IIRC, the NFL average is like 10%. Someone posted the article a few years ago.

Another exception to the rule.

Most teams are NOT trotting out 5th round (or later) picks at left tackle. What's a more likely scenario, that Olin Kruetz single-handedly poisoned the Braxton Jones talent well or perhaps Jones wasn't that great last year and they masked his shortcomings?

I know PFF LOVED Braxton Jones, but PFF also supplies 90% of FavreFan and Zippy's AWFUL football thoughts.

Your eyes told you he was solid. He's still really good at run blocking, but inconsistent pass blocking. He's also the most reliable lineman we have. At worst, you may have to flip him to RT. It's still a win.

Clearly that play only worked due to the genius of the Texans offensive coordinator.

Not really ready to say he is a sure thing based on some of the highlights I've seen. He hesitated and double clutched on a wide open receiver in the clip they present as evidence of his greatness. From what little I've seen he seems to be miles ahead of Fields and outside of this clip he is decisive and has a quick release, which is the exact opposite of Fields.

Like I said, all the indictment of Fields anyone needs to see . Debunks every excuse that Fields gets .

Make sure you have a barf bag handy:

I got about 20 minutes through it and couldn't watch any more. Just a lot of bad all around.

Dunno how long it'll take the local Chicago media to abandon the Good Ship Fields, but national guys souring on Fields. "Worst starting QB in the NFL" from more than one non-local commentator after Sunday's game.

I saw Mitch on the sidelines last night and got a little wistful.

It is kind of funny to see how suddenly the media is like "Hey, this Justin Fields guy can't throw!". It's not like he was Peyton Manning last year either.

If you are cynical I guess you say the pundits were desirous that he was better than he is. If you are the opposite maybe you are just wishful.

I know this won’t stop the “ why arent they running him more !!! “ bleating that idiot Bears fans are convinced will make Fields great but duh, DC’s had an entire year to prepare to play him this year , did folks think they werent going to adjust to stop the only thing he does well ? and really weren’t most of his big runs from scrambles anyway? Not designed runs?

When you make the quarterback not play quarterback then that's when the quarterback shined best and we had a lot of success doing that, wins and losses aside. Lot of success. Thanks and I'll listen to my answer and hang up.

Time to come to the realization that for whatever reason it is not happening for Justin Fields in Chicago, the exact same limitations that have plagued him are still there and he cannot overcome them, time to move, the sooner the better.

You may see this done quickly as you have a GM/HC combo that is 3-16 and has not won a game in almost a year and is heading toward a historic level of ineptitude.

Do you think Poles will let Eberflus and Getsy go? My fear is they will keep both around and Getsy will have some say in who gets drafted next year.

They were just talking about this on ESPN. That seems to be the pattern with the Bears (pairing lame duck coaches with a new qb).
I guess the idea is when you inherit a qb, then you get a free pass and are given another opportunity with your own guy. Hasn't worked yet.
