disagree. a few signings and some - not all, of the young talent pans out, they'll be good. really need to see pitchers thompson, killian and wesneski do much better. maybe brown and horton down the road.

they wont be signing any big names. they've proven that. they'll roll the dice on a 1 year deal and trade him by ASB to get prospects.

and young talent panning out? ask white sox fans about that - they just went thru it.

thompson, killian and wesneski? those 3 are bums. if you're depending on them this team isn't getting anywhere for a long time.

they interviewing Seya in the club house - he said he lost the ball - thought he caught it but it went over his glove. he seems to be crying.

tough interview.

well if it wasn't for this guy the last 2 months, the cubs would be like 8 games back.

mutual option, though i'm thinking the belllinger side wants to get paid. i believe the cubs will resign him.

bruce levine gave us some insight...said bellinger and his fiance love chicago and want to stay. i believe bruce called her his wife, though i don't believe they're married yet, as marquee network didn't broadcast the nuptials with cole wright sitting at his desk inside the altar.

You had a great summer of drinking beers and watching seven innings each game before leaving to beat the line to crush jagerbombs at the cubby bear

no sorcerer it's over. I see you're doing the classic Pendragon-Metamorphosis incantation right now. And yes, that's the go to / tried and true move in this situation. But now it's overkill.

Congrats on the 100 loss season during the window. At least your owner changed things up for next year..

Being upset makes one enjoy when others are similarly not happy about something.

I've seen a lot aggressive CF take charge, call off the RF and take a ball in that position.

We got a couple minutes of rare honest emotions from shill Boog. & JD.

Amazing the Marlins de facto closer went on paternity leave the final week playoff run.

HY any discussion of using your eBay profits to buy into the Cubs broadcasting rights for actual real time audio pbp from you here in the Cubs thread?

exactly. love to see them in the playoffs. to me, a year ahead of schedule. club has some weaknesses, despite marquee's best efforts to manipulate numbers. mlb network on tv and radio were going abit overboard for awhile. the cubs still may make it, but tonight was a killer.

the year ahead of schedule is more marquee manipulative bs. They'll be shit next year. no where close to their current record. thats why you got to take advantage when you have the opportunity in baseball.

it could be, but i said last year that i expected the cubs to be competitive and challenge for the division/playoffs in 2024. that was my schedule, not marquee's. this year, they challenged for the division, still have a shot at the playoffs. that's being ahead of my schedule.

I said at the beginning of the season as well as at the All Star break that I would be happy if they were playing for a playoff spot the last week of the season, and if they got 84 wins.

But the way they have played and managed this last month, no bueno. I understand the shifting around with Tauchman, because I think in any other circumstances he would be on the IL with a lower body issue, he just seems sluggish. Losing Candelario and Alzolay are problems, but really they sound too much like excuses.

Hoyer put too much on thinking that Fullmer and Boxberger would come back off the IL, and he should have spent more prospect capital to get a couple of real 8th inning guys like David Robertson at the trade deadline. And I haven't been impressed with Ross' in game decision making all season. He's probably a very good clubhouse and planning manager, but in game he is questionable.

They got a massive break last night away from Atlanta when the Mets fucked up their field management during the hurricane and last night's game against the Marlins had to be pushed to today, meaning that last night's planned starter for the Marlins won't be available on Sunday.

They are effectively a half game behind the Marlins due to the tie breaker. Let's see how the Marlins do in today's DH; if they sweep the Mets, they are pretty much going to knock the Cubs out, but if they get swept the back door is still open.
