The deep wing officials having a tough night.

No-calls have gone both ways tonight. These are both shit teams, they’re letting them play

I think he’s referring to the throw the flag & pick it up nonsense.

As TEIA said, I'm talking about the flags they're picking up and the out of bounds call. A no call is fine but the consistency on illegal contact is lacking.

Yeah but that flag looked legit.. I think the head judge has his mind made up to let them play which has resulted in some of these flags getting lifted

Meslow is one of the usual deep wings, he had a sub tonight so what you said makes sense, it'll just lead to a downgrade for the sub.

The last time the Bears put up 40+ points was December 27, 2020. They beat the Jags, who won the Trevor Lawrence pick that year.

Youd think he'd be better prepared with Patrick's injury history.

You'd think but there was at least 3 or 4 really high snaps tonight. I kept hearing they wanted to move him back over to center anyways with Jenkins and Davis coming back (Yeah, I don't believe that will ever happen either) so I thought he could, you know, maybe snap the ball to the chest of a 6 footer vs an 8 footer.

If that last pass was a yard lower may have been a different ending

Funny how having a few competent players changes your offense, you still have a guy that has no business on the field starting at LT, wonder where this team would be if Poles had brought in an average NFL center and pulled the trigger on a FA OT. Nate Davis looked good, Whitehair is just a guy, Jenkins upgraded your guard play, your rookie RT is exactly as advertised gets beat with outside speed but is impressive in the run game, now if you just had a competent LT you may have something.

Not sure why the Redskins kept playing man coverages?

Eberflus finally got out of his soft prevent cover-2, and as Alex Brown said on the after show, maybe a few of the guys they have starting are not really that good because the backup DB's have outplayed the overpaid and apparently over drafted and oft injured penciled in starters, pro player personnel is an ongoing issue with the current group. Why do they keep giving Dominique Robinson snaps? He still looks lost on every play, this again points to some rather poor self-scouting because a guy off the street gives you better production at this point.

There are several very winnable games on the upcoming schedule, but if Fields is your guy that gives you the ability to trade your top pick and get a ton of assets, still think you need to take at LT and Harrison Jr. if available, but should be able to pick up extra first or second round picks you can use to upgrade your roster.

The OL looked way better last night. Jenkins and Davis make a big difference. They still have a major issue at C.

Amazing how uninformed the national broadcast is. They acted like Lucas Patrick leaving the game was the end of the world, when in reality getting Jenkins on the field actually upgraded the oline play (Whitehair's snapping issues aside)

I agree, but Borom is bad. Whenever Jenkins was out the floodgates on the left side opened. Whitehair is done.

What was Riverboat Ron doing yesterday? Can't see him lasting another season in DC. No adjustments until midway through the 3rd quarter. No energy at all.

As Denis Rodman would say, "That's must frustratanist part", how many times did me and my fellow "experts" on this board talk about glaring need to sign/draft a center and to sign an OT, there was plenty of draft capital and cap room, so this would not have been too difficult, instead you double down at DT, instead of drafting a center and whiffed on several tackles and then decided to go into the season with Borom as your swing tackle. Whitehair is regularly getting blown up at guard, maybe he can at least hold the point of attack at center, but your will eventually get a turnover due to a bad snap, really GM malpractice not to address that position with at least a replacement level vet.

This all could have easily been avoided, but Poles is apparently waiting for the perfect dudes to magically appear in the draft or free agency to fill these key positions, you risk getting your QB injured on every play pass play you do not give Borom help, it already has cost you at least one game and limits your play action game because you cannot protect the edge for more than a few seconds.

You couldn't fill every hole in 1 year. Braxton Jones and Darnell Wright are solid NFL tackles. You hope both grow into something more than that. Whitehair was likely brought back for leadership reasons and because there is a salary cap floor.

IMO, Jenkins is the bigger issue. He's good when he's healthy, but he's rarely healthy. You're going to need to sign/draft his replacement or sign/draft a tackle and move Jones inside.

I have my concerns about Jones' injury. The team has said nothing about a timetable and its a neck injury. I am definitely on board if they want to draft that LT from Penn State and move Jones inside

Yeah, I have no problem with that. That would mean Fields is our guy. I'm not sure I would want the Penn State LT over Harrison Jr.

You couldn't get both if Fields goes back to sucking. You would have to choose.

With Jenkins back now he’ll have over a week to practice.. I think he’ll get it straightened out.

Cody has always been poor at snapping out of the shotgun. One of the main reasons they moved him off of Center. Mitch had many Cody snaps fly over his head.

Amid Cody Whitehair’s snapping issues, James Daniels getting snaps at center

Early in the 2017 regular season, Chicago Bears center Cody Whitehair had his fair share of poor snaps coming out of the shotgun. While the Kansas State alumnus was able to enter a groove later on in the year, it seems as though those issues have returned. So much so, in fact, that the Bears have decided to start giving another one of their offensive linemen a chance to take some snaps at center.
