Such a strange story. How do you get that confused? Flus said he was given choice to stay or go. Then they say he was told to stay home. How does that get confused? Such a clusterfuck of an organization

I believe he was given the choice, and he did the diva thing. His inactive clothes were in his locker. The Bears are trying to trade him for a 5th; management doesn't want him to lose any more value than he has.

Eberflus said on Kap and Hood that he wants to set the record straight. Eberflus told Claypool to stay home and he is not allowed to be with the team this week.

Eberflus said he was emotional after the loss and didn't mean to say Claypool was given a choice.

He also said that Claypool would be in the building on Monday and with the team on Thursday yesterday. Eberflus handles pressure as well as his quarterback.

Poles and Eberflus are obviously in way over their head. I wanted to give Poles another year, but every week that goes by shows another rust spot on what we thought was a frame up restoration project.

Seeing Poles celebrate like Taylor Swift at a KC game was too much. He's a boy playing a mans game and getting his ass handed to him on every level.

Ryan Poles hopped on ESPN 1000 ahead of the Bears Thursday night game against the Commanders to talk about the team. He broached the subject of Chase Claypool, too.

“You’re always disappointed in the situation and it’s definitely something I take ownership of," Poles said. "Last year in the situation we were in, we wanted to add another receiver to the offense, not only to help us be more productive but also to help Justin take the next step.

"The right thought process was there and I feel comfortable with that. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out and we were hoping for him to be a little bit more productive and be someone that could help us take it to the next level.

"I wish him luck."

It’s funny, I havent read anything about anguished Bear fans concerned that another coach is going to “ “unlock” Chase Claypool and he’s going to be a stud in the right system with the right OC and right qb throwing him the ball .

Noodled-armed Big Ben was his best quarterback. Matt Canada was his best coordinator. We should all be more empathetic.

Bears turned the 32nd pick (and a 7th) into a future 6th.

He gets a chance as their 6th best wide receiver.

they did it! congrats. i mean keeping him around and trying to work through the issues would have been detrimental to the team that is trying to... win 5 games?

Claypool is obviously not a smart man, he seems a bit more interested in clicks than the NFL at this point, we will likely read about him being bankrupt in a few years.

These young dudes think that having a following on social media will lead to long term financial success, but that stuff if fleeting and blowing NFL money by half assing a contract year is not exactly the smartest move because he then loses the platform that created his social media following and loses NFL paper.

Hoping this is the last time Poles burns draft capital chasing a guy that fits his length/athleticsm fetish, but has failed, would say Claypool looked like Tarzan, but played like Jane, but Jane never gave a half ass effort when she was fighting evil white safari dudes with Tarzan like Claypool did against the evil Packers.

I am amazed they got anything. I figured they were just going to cut him.

Such a waste. Definitely a HUGE black mark on Poles record.

they moved up the draft board from pick 225ish to 210ish. that's pretty sad less than a year removed from giving up pick 32 for him

it is really sad. But it is what it is. They had to move on from him.

Can't wait to see what Poles does with the top two overall picks in the 2024 draft.

I have a feeling we're going to corner the market on the fourth round!

extend Mooney now. He can definitely cover the role of a #2 and this incident has proven the value of a good soldier

No. Tyler Scott can do what he does.

I think they should seriously consider extending the entire offense after last night.

take a look at his rookie year

but even accepting your argument as true, we need all the talent we can get at the position. Kmet can't carry them every week. I think Mooney can play all three WR spots
