Justin Fields didn't lose the job. He will start as soon as he's healthy as he should.

this is just like when Dak cucked Romo and sent him into retirement to annoy people calling games--an upstart rookie replaces a future HoF QB who was out due to injury.

if Fields retires, how long do the Bears wait before erecting his statue? Maybe they'll save it for the new suburban stadium.

I don't know. His coach doesn't think he can throw the ball 50 yards in the air.

Last week's bomb looked terrible, for whatever reason. It's troubling that they took him out for the throw yesterday. Then again, dipshit Flus took him out to take a knee at the end of the second half.

It's strange that the scouting reports said he had good arm strength, but it actually appears to be well below average.

That says way more about the stupidity of Flus than the arm of Bagent

That's interesting. What made you look at arm length?

Agreed. We can't risk a top 5 pick with Bagent.

It is pretty strange. The eye test for 2 weeks definitely says it is not good arm strength. Yet every draft profile I went back and looked at said it was a positive for him and DJ Moore on the morning show today said he thought he had really good arm strength.

baseball bats? Leverage? Something like that. Seemed like the QB's touted as the biggest arms are guys with lanky whip-it arms like Stafford/Allen/Flacco/(or like Randy Johnson in baseball) and not the guys with shorter muscled guns.

Joe Burrow: 30 ⅞ inch arm length (19th percentile) with 9 inch hands (8th percentile)...so not a deal-breaker.

Arm length has very little to do with arm strength.

Mechanics and core strength has way more to do with it.

Yep, so much of that comes from the lower body.

I don't know. I've seen sticks with electric arms. Now that I think about it, they may have had longer arms.

I’d never heard arm length mentioned until this thread.

Wemby could probably launch a football a quarter mile.

hmmm...I don't think the physics supports you, unless you are talking about ridiculously unequals in strength.

This would be a great question for Bernstein to investigate. Honestly, you could be the source of a week's worth of shows if you call in

Obviously there are outliers in anything. But as a general rule mechanics and core strength impacts arm strength way more than the length of your arm.

I'm going to start from the assumption just about every football player has top level core strength, even the fat guys

i would say that assumption is pretty accurate. But there are different levels of top core strength that separates players from one another.
