Both Bagent and Walker justified his roster decision this weekend.

but now I wonder why Walker was ever brought in as the #2

Walker was terrible. He was inaccurate. He made some incredibly unsavvy decisions at critical moments. Refs and a strong run game made their winning drive possible (ferocious d kept them in it). Numbers bear it out as well.

Bagent looked no worse and I would say better.

In a situation where the rookie looks at least as good as the veteran, you go with the young guy for both financials and potential.

I only saw the end of the Browns game but it’s probably worth considering opponents.

Poles, who famously said the Bears were going to “take the North and never give it back” (which probably convinced simpleton George to hire him), has yet to win a single game against the North. The last division victory for the Bears was Thanksgiving 2021 (!).

It sucks that his time was cut short but I see no reason to keep any of them. Poles, Eberflus, Getsy, Pace, and Nagy should all be fired. Do a complete reset.

he was ground balling throws to wide open receivers. That throw within two minutes near the goal line was inexcusable from a veteran

Not spending on McGlinchey seems smart.

I guess the Chiefs didn't watch any Buccaneers games from last season.

Refusing to give McGlinchey a huge contract was a good move. But prior to and during the free agency signing period, a lot of analysts pointed out that he had been on the decline for a while and wasn't effective in 2022. If that's the case, why pursue him at all?

Before we canonize Ryan Poles, he did give a bag of money to Nate "Street Clothes" Davis this offseason. He probably would have been better off going after Powers to play LG and leaving Jenkins at RG, where he is more comfortable.

Most likely because no one in the Bear's staff thought that Bagent could be the back-up guy.

Poles certainly has not done well with pro player evaluations, his FA signings have been mediocre at best, Billings has solidified your run D and Edwards is a tackling machine, but not getting commensurate levels of production from Edmunds or Davis yet. Davis in not surprising because his lack of availability is why the Titans moved on from him, see a few flashes from Edmunds, but nothing to earn his big paper.

The success of his draft picks is what matter, and there are a few bright spots there, Wright looks like a good player, seeing flashes from the young DB's, and Dexter is developing exactly as I thought he would, he's a huge guy that just needs to refine his technique and he will be a solid NFL DT for years.

He really has not hit on any difference makers on either side of the line so far, solid guys, but no game changing type guys.

He likes to play it safe, and pick sold guys and not take big swings, but this next offseason will require the GM to take big swings in FA and the draft.

Poles seems to have a bad habit of giving money to guys with questionable characters. Of course the one guy he doesn't pick in the draft with questionable character is now dominating with the eagles LOL

Not quite sure I’d put that one on Poles but I’m fine firing him for it.

Rumors out there that Bears are after Chase Young, would depend on the price, but he instantly becomes your best DE.

Mully just said that Poles should have the opportunity to draft the Bears' next QB.

Why?

He doesn't appear to have drafted particularly well, and his free agent signings are also disappointing.

There is no indication that he is a high-level talent evaluator.

Kevin Warren looked pissed off in the press box. He was writing something down on a notepad. Hopefully updating his wish list of GM's and coaches.

I'll just state the obvious you want white management and quarterback and black everyone else.

Another suspect pick by Poles, and you want him to pick our next QB?

For comparison, Alontae Taylor, another corner drafted after Gordon has been much better.

I don't like it. Are they giving him the opportunity to see what his value is? A late 3rd or late 2nd isn't enough.
