Assuming they give to a local guy, who would you want? I know, a lot of bad choices, but you have to pick one.

I say Jeff Joniack. I bet he would want it too. He could still do the Bears.

1. The Ghost of Jimmy Piersall.
2. Hawk (JR has a LaRussa-like regret about his departure).
3. Dan Bernstein - to prove his Sox cred to JORR and annoy GD.

I enjoyed his essay about Yoan Moncada that ended with playing "Cuban Slide" by the Pretenders.

They need to stop worrying about a Chicago connection and get the best big league pre/post/fill-in guy or AAA lead announcer willing to take a low ball offer. If this was last year, they might have been able to get Wayne Randazzo, but that ship has sailed.

I disagree. The White Sox are not just a local institution but a hyperlocal institution. They absolutely need Chicago connections in fan-facing roles, and South Side connections at that. I don't know who the next Ed Farmer is, though, but that's who they need.

EDIT: Yes I do. It was Dave Wills and he died.

So do you want LoHo, Kenny McReynolds, or Tommy Williams?

All three of them together so we can hear "Kinney McRinnalds"

Tommy Williams is seriously the best name thrown out so far.

Curious is right, but I don't think BOTH TV guys need to be deeply rooted in Chicago...just one of them. I doubt Stone has more than a year or two left....I wouldn't be surprised if he packed up and retired right now to avoid starting over with a new "BIG PAHTNAH"

Holmes would be a horrible choice, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if Jerry went that way....or someone as engaging as Gordon Bacon.

He also said he had some names that would be good for the role, but didn't want to publicly say who he liked because that would disqualify them once Reinsdorf knew that was who he liked.
