The Cubs just hired a good, not great, manager. You would think they stole the best manager of all time by the way the Score portrays the move.

The Cubs are really getting into your brain.

How so? How many times have I heard Counsell is the best manager in baseball? That's ridiculous.

It is Nov 14 and he is worrying about what the Score hosts say about the Cubs. Thats how.

The amount of speculation that this show presents as fact is off the charts.

According to both Dan and Laurence (who agree on almost everything and pre-plan their shows to ensure they are aligned on any topic they discuss), the Bears coaching staff is not comfortable with coaching Justin Fields and are going out of their way to sabotage him. They would rather coach Tyler Bagent who both say is nowhere close to being a starting QB in the NFL. This same coaching staff who doesn't like coaching Justin Fields and could have have replaced him with their choice of QB's in the last draft didn't do that, but would rather coach an undrafted rookie free agent who nobody thinks is an actual NFL starter.

Last season, Laurence suggested that Bryce Young had the upside of Drew Brees, arguably a top 10 NFL all-time QB, but wouldn't trade Justin Fields to draft a player who may be an all-time great.

Of course, anyone who is questioning how Fields is being coached, the impatience with Fields or any positivity to Bagent (they like to take a small handful of callers who think Bagent is Farve and make that the Bears fanbase now thinking this) as having a specific motive in not liking Fields that should be pretty obvious to anyone watching. Laurence even thinks the show needs a bigger discussion around the dynamics here and why all of these people have this very specific motive.

So, not particularly surprising that this show falls back on their usual unfounded accusations and confuse their own conspiracy's as facts......

This argument from them always sounded illogical to me. A coach only looks better to the market if he shows he can coach many types of players. Also, Getsy can't feel so secure in his position that he could run a player out of town. He's more likely to be out of a job than Fields.

I listen to the Score before 7 am and after 6 pm. All I have heard during that time is wall to wall Counsell. I don't hear the same thing from the other station even though it probably has more hosts who are cubs fans.

It would be a fan of WLIT and not noticing that they are playing a lot of christmas music.

you have devolved into a guy that is bordering on Caller Bob level of work. No matter what the Cubs do you just mock it and take the other side. You have been super critical of Ross over the last few years and how he is portrayed. The Cubs get rid of him and go with a guy who has been really successful and now you are critical of that. If Counsell had went to another team you would have been critical of the Cubs for not trying to get him or whatever.

You are a really solid Bears poster but it is like the Cubs get brought up and you become a babbling troll.

Interesting. Some would say Hanley may not be a fan of the Score so discount what he says. Dan and Laurence often say that the only organization that is so sensitive to what is said about them is the White Sox.

I don't mind conversation on it, it's just sort of odd that it's being treated like they signed LeBron. All of these same hosts just said 3 years ago that managers don't matter. Of course, that has changed now so now mangers do matter so non-stop coverage.

Bernstein and Holmes think that Fields is a superstar being held back by his coaches. It makes no sense to think that Getsy would rather coach/start an undrafted free agent than someone with Fields potential.

Managed a team to the playoffs in 5 out of the last 6 years and won the division 3 times. Seems successful to me. Definitely a better managing record than Ross has.

Bernstein and Larry have been bringing up names (if you Google them they're not involved in sports) and giggling about it on inside jokes. I think Julie might have been right but a 180.

Yep…today Bernstein literally said Getsy and the staff are “bothered” by having to coach Fields.

Curious Hair said it best: Fields cannot fail, he can only be failed.

If these coaches are prejudiced and do not want to work with African Americans, they made awfully goddamn odd career choices in wanting to coach professional football players. Or are we supposed to believe they don't mind working with them as long as they don't want to play -- gasp -- quarterback?

Once Fields immediately gets his job back after being medically cleared, that should end the “Local coaches HATE him” story line.

Coaches don't like working with a guy who says he doesn't think he should be coached? Hm, interesting.

I’d say that’s the best I’ve ever seen her look and despite the fact he’s 80lbs lighter in that pic than he is today, that’s the worst I’ve seen him look.
