Funny how quickly things change, just a few weeks ago the draft sites had Caleb Willams rated as the top guy in the draft and were talking about him as a "Generational prospect", now Marvin Harrison Jr. has surpassed as the top-rated player and Maye is closing the gap as the top QB.

Highly unlikely you can take both, and it is sounding more and more like they have soured on Fields, so you could see Maye as your QB next season, you likely could still get one of the top OT's if your second pick is still top 5, and Nabers or Coleman if you are top 10.

The Jets, Giants, Falcons, and Patriots would all love to get Fields, just wondering if you can get a second round pick for him on draft day.

i would take both. play badgent to start the game. feilds 2nd qtr, williams 3rd qtr and harrison 4th.

whomever has the most touchdowns at the end of the year is the starter and you take the 2nd most td's guy and make him your backup.

Your market value for Fields is rated higher than mine.

Maye could very well go #1.

Trying to be optimistic, but the best time to trade him might have been right after the Washington game.

There is a very real possibility that he struggles for the next month, you have Detroit twice, at Minnesota, and at Cleveland, you may see him take 15-20 sacks over the next four games with eight or more turnovers.

That likely will do little to enhance his value, but this is the NFL and you just need to find your Ryan Pace and get him bidding against himself.

Right now...if there was a team offering a 2nd round pick for Fields, they best jump on that....I think that's generous and his value is going to continue to drop. He's a great athlete, but his limited QB value is pretty well documented.

mitch trubinsky's limitations were well documented. Fields clearly has elite level athleticism. but does anyone believe they can harness it?

Parkins conceded that Fields could be gone simply because it would be unprecedented for a team to have the #1 pick two years in a row and pass on a QB both times—especially when the QB they have is not established as a franchise QB. Would Poles take that chance and not draft his own QB, knowing that he likely won’t get another GM job if gets fired?

The four games off were a great benefit. Justin Fields will romp on Sunday and then dance on the Lions grave.

If Poles passes on a QB, he will be fired within a year of the 2024 draft. There is absolutely no question he will use a first-round pick to take a QB in April.

What if he has to package the two picks to get the one he wants? For all we know, he could have the 4 and 6 pick.

yeah absolutely. He has to use it on a QB.

They would have to be completely 150% sold on Fields to be a franchise changing QB to pass and there is no way at this point that is true.

This is how I feel. Fields has to be better than good. Otherwise, it was too appealing to have a shot at resetting the whole QB contract timeline with your own guy.

It seems like I'm the only one who believes it but I think they will get a 1 for Fields if he only plays good, not great. I'd say a 2025 #1 and some middle round 2024. If he plays great, the price goes up.

Larry Holmes was pushing Fields last 17 game's stats as I believe he said something like "outstanding". Most only ok.

Fields last 17 games vs lg '22-'23 approx avg

Compl. % - 63 64
Ypg 175 - 220
Tdg - 1.5 1.4
Int pg - 0.8 0.8
Rate - 92 89
Sk - 3.7 2.5
Ypsg - 24.8 16.6
Pass ya 7.2 7

I think by this point all of these teams are looking for a QB whose greatest attributes are in the passing department. That said, a good 7-week span in the coming weeks would leave a good impression going into the off-season and maybe help erase some of the bad memories.

The thing we’ll never know, which is likely a big factor in Poles’ decision, is what he has been offered for Fields. If the return has been relatively weak, it tells him that no one else sees the potential. On the other hand, if he’s getting great offers, maybe that tells him he’s better off keeping him.

so he's using trade offers as a gage to measure talent ?

Not sure about that. There's at least a dozen teams that loathe their QB but win enough games to be stuck in NFL hell. They could offer the bears a lot even if they're not totally sure on fields. We did it for Jay Cutler.

If the Score’s midday show had that kind of draft capital, it would be a possibility.

Cutler was way better at that point in his career than Fields is right now.

How many years was Cutler in the league when the bears anointed him the keys to Jerusalem?
