My usual Black Friday ritual....
1. Dig out the Christmas decorations.
2. Haul them upstairs. Assemble the tree. Untangle and test lights. Buy more lights if needed.
3. Play Christmas Music always starting with James Brown "Funky Christmas".
4. Hand off other portion of decorating to my wife.
5. Order Pizza and drink beer.

This year...I'm in Europe for work, so my ritual is different.
1. Go To Work
2. Back to Hotel
3. Eat Dinner and drink beer.

I love it. My wife is out shopping and I lounge around watching some decent college football games with the kids eating leftovers. We pretty much do what we want and no one bothers us. I might throw a turkey in the smoker this year just because.

Christmas tree does not go up until after the start of Advent.
Black Friday is for manly pursuits, such as sports viewing and thoroughbred wagering.

Not directly related, but I'd bet there's only a handful of us old enough to remember lining up outside of Carson Pirie Scott @ 6 am to get a numbered wristband, which was sort of the equivalent of a draft lottery that determined if and when you could purchase concert tickets.

Just pointing out that it’s the first time they’ve ever had NFL on Black Friday. And if you place a bet, it can be as interesting as any other nfl game.

I'm normally on a beach in Nuevo Vallarta on Black Friday. Due to my FIL getting a bad case of COVID in April, we are not going this year. Not sure what I will do. #5 sounds good with some #3 thrown in there.

It’s only manly if it’s a real Christmas tree.

I like putting the tree up after Thanksgiving. Everybody is home, it keeps my husband occupied with a project, looks nice, etc.

I love fake trees.

Good lord. Poor Mister Spaulding. No one wants to put a Christmas tree up the day after Thanksgiving. Again this is why I love Black Friday. Football, leftovers, and no one bothering us.

He does a lot of it on his own and only the family tree and outside stuff. My tree didn't get put up one year because I had too much going on. I can't make him do anything he doesn't want nor do I browbeat him about anything. We both do a lot of what we want to and it's why we go so well together.

He's into tradition - his family always did a tree trimming thing the next day and he's a project guy. When he has nothing to do he creates stuff to do. It's rare for him to watch a sporting event from start to finish. He's also house proud. Nice lawn, some cleaning or neatening up, he goes and goes and goes. I like working out, doing something with friends, and going out to dinner the day after Thanksgiving. He cleans and puts stuff away, I think it can wait a day or 2.

I woke up late, went to the blackhawks game with my boys, then went to the Bodeans concert with my wife and friends. There are worse ways to spend a day.

Wearing your Megadeath concert t must really fool the kids into thinking you are one of them.

Megadeath may be Dolphin's idea of hip.
