Many of you in this message board, myself included, absolutely loathe Chris Berman. For some reason at halftime of ESPN's "NFL Monday Night Football" between the Pittsburgh Steelers & Washington Redskins, he's actually going to interview both of our Presidential nominees on the eve of the 2008 Presidential Election. Chris will pretape interviews with Barack Obama & John McCain earlier in the day for airing at halftime. I know Chris has been a fixture at ESPN since day 1 in 1979, but given the fact the "Worldwide Leader in Sports" and ABC are owned by Disney, shouldn't someone like "This Week" host George Stephanopoulos or one of ABC News' other political reporters be interviewing Obama & McCain instead of "Boomer"? Just a thought, fans...

Actually, with the softball type questions that they're going to get, it's probably better to keep it with Berman.

"So, Sen. Obama, was our very own Iron Mike Ditka a great coach or the greatest coach?"

"Sen. McCain, what's it like coming from a state with no real NFL franchise?"

Both of them have already done "Mike & Mike"....Berman shouldn't be a surprise. Plus, Barack will look like the leader he will be, and McCain will just seem old and angry....IMO! 8)

"Mike & Mike in the Morning" did have both Barack Obama & John McCain on their ESPN Radio/ESPN2 simulcast a while back, and their interviews are available for download at ESPNRadio.com anytime. Why didn't "Boomer" try to interview the Presidential candidates right after Greenberg & Golic give equal time to the two candidates for the White House much sooner? :?

If he's looking to make headlines the next morning, he could always bust out the nickname "Barack Saddam Hussein Obama"
Image

Or if he wants to be a tad less controversial, he could always try

"Ba rack 'em up Obama"

"Barack O they set us up the bomb a"

"Barack Para bailar la-Obama"

He could also go with "John McCitizen Kane".

Yes those are all lame. But it's late, I spent the time typing them, I'm not deleting them.

I'd love to hear Chris Berman's meltdown from when he did "Monday Night Football" highlights many years ago on ABC again. That, the Bill O'Reilly meltdown from when he hosted "Inside Edition" in the '90s, Mike Ditka & Dennis Green's postgame tirades and the Casey Kasem "Long Distance Dedication" meltdown that Kevin Matthews used to play occasionally on his old radio show are the funniest things I've ever heard!

Anyone notice that Berman got to use both candidates hometown teams being in first place as being a "good omen" for them? So, if Barack wins, what does that mean for theBears?

Colonel, your guess is as good as mine. I did hear "Boomer" mention that to both candidates...
