Any thoughts on the Kmet contract extension? I believe you thought it was the worst deal in football if I remember correctly.

Yeah it's still dumb. I guess you are more impressed with 5 yard catches and then falling down than I am though. Nice 4-8 record it's led you to though!

Quote:
Kmet has produced handsomely. His 231 receiving yards through five weeks ranks sixth most and his +3.7% catch rate over expected is fourth best at his position (min. 30 targets). Kmet has also corralled three touchdowns this season, matching the league-high receiving TD totals among tight ends put up by Sam LaPorta, Mark Andrews, George Kittle and Travis Kelce.

Green Bay drafted a TE who may have died a few weeks ago or he had a tubal ligation. I can't remember.

Musgrove looks to be a fine prospect moving forward. Along with Tucker Kraft another draft pick this year, I like where we are with tight ends moving forward.

Yup we're set. Another Gutey W. Is there any position Chicago is better at than GB? Doesn't seem like it. I guess maybe Safety

Weren’t you a Kmet basher? I’m too lazy to look it up but it seems like I recall a lot of shots at guys from ND.

glad to see FF has devolved into the guy that just shows up every so often to take a lap for attention but is MIA any time the Packers/love struggles

When FavreFan was yapping his nonsense about Kmet's contract being the worst in football, I said it wasn't THAT bad of deal check the tape.

His first two years in the league, yes he was bad.

There is absolutely nothing dynamic about Kmet. He is as good at catching checkdowns as AJ Dillon is at running into a pile for .75 yds. There is place in the TE room for a guy like that but he is just your possession guy and you have to realize that this guy is racking up stats because defenses are completely fine with it. The TD celebration is terrible too.

when Kmet catches the ball youre happy at that. you never expect him to actually gain yards after the catch.

when DJ moore catches the ball, you get really fucking frustrated when he doesn't break for an extra 20 yards.

BIG DIFFERENCE

You described all but about three tight ends in the league, maybe five at most.

He's durable (not missed a game in 4 years), which is no small feat for a TE. He now catches everything you throw at him (83% catch percentage). He works at his craft as he has gotten better in just about every aspect since year 1. He blocks. He actually is physical catching the ball if you try to tackle him above the waist but it is frustrating that he goes down very easily with leg tackles.

He’s at the top end of the tier 2 tight ends trending upward.

One of the few guys I can recall showing considerable improvement after getting paid.

He’s probably worth more. Great signing by Poles.
