I just looked at 3 mocks. 1 had him taking Caleb and one Maye at 1. The third have them taking Harrison. The second picks were edge, edge and DT. No one seems to have them trading down except one has them switch with Pats so Pats can take Maye.

Mock drafts are completely irrelevant until draft order is determined.

No, no, no…this is mock draft season my man. They’re arguably more relevant than any of the games.

Can see several scenarios that allow Poles to upgrade the offensive line this season into one of the better units in the league.

There will be the opportunity to draft a franchise LT and sign a top FA center, you would then have both tackles on rookie deals and would have gone from a collection of late round picks and FA's to a unit full of early round draft picks if you sign Connor Williams.

This would almost QB proof your offense, allow you to protect a rookie QB and give him a time to develop.

The Fields Cult's disingenuous concern about the Bears being ready to win next year and a rookie quarterback needing time to develop should be flushed with their other excuses.

IRregardless of Fields, the concern is drafting a lottery ticket. Aren't you the least bit scared?

No. The opportunity is exciting.

He may never be elite, but he's durable and above average at this point in his career. That said, if there is a HoF caliber LT on the board, you take the kid and move Jones inside or make him a swing lineman.

Poles knows drafting the lottery ticket buys him at least 3-4 more years.

No. The opportunity is exciting.

It's a little distressing seeing Purdy do as he pleases. Now Browning and Devito perhaps. NFL has every position figured out but QB. Might as well figure out which altcoin is the best.

It's a great draft to solve this 80 year problem.

This Maye be the best quarterback draft since 1983, and the Bears Maye have the #1 pick.

So you got nothing but a coin and a scratch off. Show me the guy who has the QB scouting down for 20 years....there is no such guy and we all know YOU ain't that guy.

Why do anything? No one has the science of scouting any position down. We can all just join you, crying in the fetal position and paralyzed by fear.

I knew writing "scared" was going to bite me in the ass. My own fault. It was hardly the point, but I should have known who I was dealing with.

I'm not sure what you are arguing for or against, my friend. Help me understand.

There's no perfect science for scouting a quarterback or any position. You can have a bust like JaMarcus Russell go #1 and the GOAT #199. I believe it was BRick who laid out the data that showed success rates for quarterbacks were substantially higher if you took them in the first round. I don't think we should be apprehensive about change because there’s a chance of failure.

Fields cult? Members of the super-secret Facebook group will have to wary when passed a red Solo cup full of Orange Kool-Aid at the next gathering of the Nases.

If you think a rookie QB will not need time to learn and develop then you live on the very small island known as "QB 1 Finished Product Land", 99.9% of the island's residents are blind shut ins and can only listen to the Dany Parkins show, hey, that describes a significant portion of the board members here, hey Nas, what time does the next flight leave?

BotMaster, the point is, Fields has been in the league for three years and he's not as advanced as Bagent when it comes to processing what he's seeing on the field. The potential shortcomings of a rookie quarterback won't necessarily negatively impact a young team more than the limitations of a fourth-year quarterback who is restricted as a passer because of his inability to process effectively. Besides, the Bears won't likely be a Super Bowl team next season. They can handle the growing pains of a young quarterback. A young quarterback who will have a lot of talent around him.

That ignores the truth of how bad the Bear's starting offensive line has been ever since Fields took over. Right now the Bear's are a completely better team that they were when the season started. Fields has a great upsides and very high floor. Right now I could see them retaining Eberflus while firing Getz but I would not be against bringing in Harbaugh to give them a better offensive chance.

I don't know admittedly. But most teams luck into a QB. Maybe if you go about building a grotesquely talented team, a QB will show up.
