It certainly is for someone making their first 15 starts. That's why the fact that he has outperformed Peyton Manning's first 15 starts doesn't really matter. Wasn't the whole point of drafting him and having him sit for 2 years so he would be doing this?

You keep bringing up Manning, no clue what his numbers were to start with. I think they drafted him with the idea that he needed to upgrade footwork but had good arm potential. Rodgers was coming off 2 subpar seasons for him so no way to know he was going to be the league MVP the next 2 years so it worked out this way. Quarterbacks used to never start right away, maybe it will be a good thing.

I am bringing up Manning's numbers to show why the "First 15 starts" metric for Love is so flawed. Most of the good ones weren't in year 3 when they got start 2.

Manning was considered to pretty much of a finished product coming out of college, which is why he was selected at the top of the draft and thrust right into the starting role. Clearly Love was viewed as a bit of a project and was expected to sit and learn. A better comparison at this point would be with Rodgers than Manning.

How far back are we talking here? When you look at most of the best quarterbacks of all time they were starting by year 2 with most of them starting in year 1.

What has changed is how often players now start from day 1.

I don’t know, I haven’t done precise research. I know for a long period of time, quarterbacks coming direct out of college did not start right away. Hell, Peyton didn’t start right away in college.

The point is that it isn't a valid comparison at all. "Starts to being a career" isn't a stat that should be used. I also wouldn't say the Love sucks because he is far behind Kurt Warner in that.
