We are sending out best wishes to Fred Huebner today.

WSCR's Fred Huebner, the former contributor to the Mike North Morning Show and current afternoon sports update reporter for the station, has not been on the air this week. Here's why... since Tuesday, Fred has been hospitalized with heart trouble. Doctors found an irregular heartbeat, high heart rate and fluid around his heart.

There was no surgery done, just plenty of careful observation and various medications to control the problems. He is said to be improving greatly and could be finally leaving the hospital tomorrow, possibly even today. It will still be at least another week before he can return to work at The Score.

Anybody who knows Fred will tell you that he has a big heart -- figuratively speaking, of course. To hear of his physical heart problems has worried many. Here's hoping that his doctors can control Fred's heart issues and he can return to the Chicago airwaves quickly.

Get well soon and stay well, Fred!

What are you talking about. Fred is probably the best update man they have. I despised him as a sidekick for both Murph and North but Fred is fine when put in the correct role. I hope he gets better.

Get well wishes to Fred. He's done a good job in his current role as midday & afternoon sports update guy at "The SCORE", but I wasn't aware his heart was bothering him. In addition to his update duties, I know he also called the bulk of Chicago Fire soccer matches this season on their new flagship, MY Network TV's MY 50, all season long.

I know Fred used to hype diet pills on the air, saying that he took them on a regular basis. Those types of diet pills send the heart racing like there's no tomorrow. Does anyone know if those pills have any link to what ails him?
I took those pills on one occasion and thought my heart would pop out of my chest. Never touched them again.
Again, not saying he's a popper. Just concerned. Especially if he used a can of Red Bull as a chaser!

Hope fred is ok and gets better, health is the #1 thing, hopefully he will realize that and take the steps he needs to insure that he can avoid stuff like this.

Fred's a more interesting update guy, than, say, Offman. And he can work with Murph as a cohost.

Fred's a Score guy. He had a shot at going bigger than update guy with his space on the MNMS. He went for it and it never worked. There was nothing he could do about it. If he spoke up, he would have been forced out.

He did the right thing though by staying at the Score instead of picking up poop after Lucky craps.

He's back today. I like Fred as an update guy and former Bears pre-game guy. Hated him as a MNMS guy.
