If it wasn't for Shanahan he wouldn't have even had his one good year. He had similar limitations as Fields. RG3 was a rag doll he didn't know how to take a hit. When he got hit it was arms and legs flying everywhere. Fields is more durable at least.

Fields took some vicious hits yesterday and it's far from abnormal for him to take vicious hits. So that's not going to change for whatever "imaginative" offense that's developed for him. Hits pile up, skills go down.

Why are the Falcons doing this deal? (hint they're not) Their fucking shitbum of a QB at least hung 25 on the Packers.

Get real people. You are getting a 3rd at best for Fields.

Should I add in a filter like this:
Justin (Most rushing yards by a quarterback in a regular season game) Fields?

Their shitbum was benched for Taylor Heineke. He's not their guy. The Falcons are a QB away from being mentionable with the best teams in the NFC and will not be able to get one of the top 2 (and maybe not even 4) in the draft.

I actually think its a logical trade

The Falcons have Fields already, he just spells his last name Ridder.

So the falcons move backward in the draft and give up a future first for Justin Fields?

Fields isn't a solution for them. They can stay at 8 and take Penix.

Do people really not understand that a Jaylon Johnson deal is virtually guaranteed. The bears will restrict him. Some other team will sign him to a contract. The Bears will match and he will be here for 4-5 more years.

Just like last year and just about every other year, there will be a run of QB at the top of the draft. Pennix will be a top 5 pick. Book it. Maybe someone like Jayden Daniels falls to them (and I kind of doubt that). Fields is better than Daniels, especially for a team ready to win today.

Any QB available at 8 won't be a qb who will be ready to lead them on Day 1.

Also, the Falcons aren't a QB away. Their defense is sieve. They have drafted alot of offensive weapons high, but I'm not sure if they are that good.

I won't interfere with your positioning of Fields on the trade market.

9 to 8 isn't worth much, maybe a 4th. What did the Bears get from Philly last year for 10 to 9?

That's why I think the path to get a 2025 1st is to trade down from the 9 and add Fields. What might be a 3rd and a 5th without Fields becomes a 2025 1st with him. If they trade Fields, they aren't trading the 1st overall pick.

I mentioned New Orleans upthread, but I read that Carr's contract is an even bigger disaster if they cut him. So the Raiders would be the logical target.

I have said all along, I believe they will get a first round pick for Fields after a robust market forms for his services.

I'd settle for a go up one spot and get a 2 from Atlanta. That's a high end 2 without much doubt.

It's right there in the series of posts you quoted.

The market for QB is never rational

I wanted to disagree with you, but there's plenty of history of bad QB trades to back your theory. As already mentioned....Darnold returning a 2nd round pick is a great example

Remember when the Bears gave up a first for Rick fucking Mirer??
