He was not booed. What Reinsdorf and Krause did at the end of the dynasty was booed. If the Bulls wouldn't have been run like a D league team then only a couple morons boo and life goes on.

It's been 30 years. The only reason people boo'd is because they're still alive.

Sam "Da Man" Smith has discussed this extensively in the past. After 98 the Bulls run was essentially over whether Krause and Reinsdorf brought the gang back or not. I'm inclined to agree with him about that.

anyone complaining they eneded the bulls dynasty too soon, even if they extended it to the max you still havent gotten laid since the last time they would have hypothetically won their last title

For sure. But do you let them die a natural death or pull the plug? Pulling the plug saves Reinsdorf a shit ton of money and enables Krause to get out of the GOAT's shadow. It was the wrong decision then, just on moral principle, and it is the wrong decision now, based on hindsight.

I'm pretty sure Jordan and scraps could have beat that Spurs team.

That's my point. We have had 30 fucking years of D League ownership. The boos are for how Reinsdorf runs his team more than for hatred of Krause.

Absolutely right. Reiiny is the worst owner in sports. Period.

Mully has apparently appointed himself the Score's Miss Manners on this topic. His heart is hurt by the rough treatment given to Krause by Bulls fans. Those ruffians made Thelma cry!

My theory that it was done as a way to honor Krause in a way that was going to work a lot better than a whole day dedicated to him.

Let's say everyone that was important in the 3 peats is brought back on their own.
Jordan
Pippen
Jackson
Rodman
Grant
Even guys like Paxon, BJ, Harper, Longley, Bison Dele.

All of those days go very well. Everyone cheers.

Now you do Krause. It could have been 10x worse.

I think they thought that everyone would be so high on honoring Jordan even though Jordan wasn't there that they wouldn't boo Krause.

If they found a way to bring back Bison Dele, now we got a story!

JR had to know the extended lock out was coming. A short season in 99 could have led to another title. They also may have finally go taken out by the Knicks. Either way you run it back and give them the chance to defend the title.

Latrell Sprewell was not going to take out Michael Jordan in a 7-game series. The Knicks weren't even that good in '99.

When you look at the players on that 98 Bulls team, none of them ever really did much in the NBA after 98. Jordan for obvious reasons, but even guys like Rodman and Pippen too. Rodman only played 35 more games in the NBA and Pippen never made another All Star team. Jordan had to literally drag that 98 squad past the finish line in order to win. They were cooked.

Even if we allow for that, you can't forgive how badly Krause botched the rebuild. He finally got to do it all his way with all his people and the Bulls were awful. Now we're looking at a team that has made it out of the first round four times in 25 years. Paxson sort of got the team back to respectability but Krause dug a deep hole at the end there.

I'm not one to suggest that Krause is the primary reason that the Bulls won 6 rings. Or even a secondary reason either. I just think that he gets too much of the blame when it comes to the breakup of the roster. And the main reason he gets bashed isn't because of the Bulls roster that he built post Dynasty either. He gets bashed because fans believe that he is the main reason that there was a post Dynasty. Particularly one that occurred so quickly. I really don't think he was the main culprit in that.

LTG's position on Krause is terribly incoherent. Krause was responsible for acquiring all players and coaches on the dynasty teams except Jordan. That's trades, picks, FA signings, etc, spanning over a decade. He procured 66% of the initial big three in one draft. He legendarily traded up for Pippen in that same draft - he nailed that scouting report. He boldly traded Oakley for Cartwright, a win win for both teams. He seamlessly refreshed the big three following the Jordan White Sox interregnum and added a fourth wheel - kukoc - whose presence ensured the second three peat didn't end at 4 or at most 5. He added Bison Dele/Brian Williams who provided much needed athleticism and scoring for a year. He was the most talented big man on the team and Krause got him for free basically. He deftly stocked the roster with enough bigs to hack Shaq, knowing that Orlando would be the main obstacle. He replaced paxson with kerr and upgraded Armstrong by acquiring Harper. There's no sane person on earth who would dismiss what he built.

Weren't most of the players on the 1999 Knicks and Spurs either past their prime or entirely without a prime? The main exception, of course, is Duncan, but he wasn't yet at his peak, though he was very, very good as a rookie.

Pippen had life for about 2-3 years post 98. He was a key cog on the jail blazers team that should have knocked off the Lakers in 2000 or 2001. Him, Bonzi Wells, Sheed Wallace, Steve Smith, etc. That was a nice deep team.

Jordan and a watered down NBA were the primary reason for the 6 championships. Not Krause. And "genius"architects don't get that stupid all of a sudden. Krause demonstrated what he "knew" about building championship teams once Jordan left. Which was very little actually in retrospect.

Watered down NBA? Stop with that nonsense. There were some really good players and teams in the 90s.
