I'm having a hard time caring about either the story or the characters thus far. I'll stick it out regardless, but it's not off to a good start.

Caught episode 2 last night. They continue to move the story along and create more questions than answers. Foster plays a pretty miserable person, and I truly don't find it very believable. Not sure I care enough to continue but will likely give it one more episode as there was an interesting discovery at the end of this episode.

Foster has a sex scene in episode two which made me want to claw my own eyes out, much like some of the vicitims in episode 1.

I thought the second episode was better than the first, with the exception of that sex scene (no one needed to see that). I was worried that the Navarro character was going to be an annoying self righteous presence throughout the entire show, but that seems to be subsiding somewhat.

She isn't too bad, and we learned a bit more about the backstory between her and Foster's character. She's definitely a damaged character that is keeping it together with duct tape and baling wire for the moment.

The Tuttle name is on the company that secretly funds the ill-fated Tsalal research station, and presumably the Tuttle fingerprints are all over this case. Maybe they’re connected to the relatively down-to-earth but still loathed mine owner, Kate McKitterick (Dervla Kirwan), since it’s not like you become a mine owner without money.

I've never seen The Accused, but that's two Jodie Foster sex scene mentions in one thread for you. How many of these have you committed to memory?

Last two seasons sucked hard.

First two episodes this year were awesome. Love the Dyatlov Pass incident stuff here. Fully in.

I think Dolphin is making a joke since The Accused scene he's referencing was a rape.

Incidentally, Foster filmed The Accused and Silence of the Lambs back-to-back. Foster's performances in both movies help call attention to gendered "ways of seeing", and Silence is particularly interesting in the way it uses Foster's "feminine" vision to combat male objectification.

It's amazing they take 4-5 years off between seasons, only make 6 episodes per season, and still produce such a Mediocre viewing product

The Jodie Foster character is a bit of a red ass. I think she would fit in as a poster on this board.

You should try taking 4-5 years off. Maybe your posts will become mediocre when you return.

So far this season is worse than season two. No one seems to be doing any police work except the kid, and even then all his “work” happens off screen.
