Again zero Justin Fields talk with Dan Wiederer. DW now coached up not to cross the line drawn in the sand.

It's possible that the topic just hasn't been "newsworthy" of late with the decisions to keep Eberflus and hire new coordinators. However, that seems unlikely given that Caleb just declared for the draft since their last conversation and most of these talk show hosts try to connect OC candidates to one of the QBs or parse words from the season ending press conference as to being pro Caleb or Justin.

It seems more plausible that Lawrence didn't like how the last conversation went, didn't like Wiederer confronting him, etc. and either is intentionally keeping the topic off of Fields or a show decision was made to not discuss the topic with Wiederer.

The Score transitions once always fun are so predictable and boring now. Gabe Ramirez filling in was only allowed to speak when questioned specifically and silent the first 10 minutes. They're all lost without quests.

Considering that nearly every guest is asked about the OC and some version of a question that gets back to Justin Fields, it seems highly unlikely that the topic wouldn't come up unless at least one host (Holmes) has decided to either intentionally sidestepped it in questions or a show decision was made to not discuss.

We probably won't know for certain and maybe they just agreed to let it rest for a bit, but if there is any truth to this, it wouldn't be surprising considering how thin-skinned Holmes is.

I haven't heard today's show either, but he had been making comments previously about how he wouldn't want to mention any names he liked because the Holmes approval would hurt that candidate's chances of landing that job.

Bernstein and Holmes had previously also known who would get the job, but wouldn't mention that person's name on the air either, just that it was very obvious to them.

He said something to the effect of people asking him if he was interested in the job, but he did not.

Dan said the guy he wrote was offered the job but turned it down.

This was all in the first segment after transition.

So, it's probably not Connor, but the other candidate (maybe from Boston?...not sure)...Either way, of course, Dan knows everything, but can't actually report anything.

I heard him go nuts last week when he was questioned by a texter about why the Bulls broke up. I don't think I've heard Dan that mad and defensive. He gave the whole angry reminder that he was there when all of this was going on, he shared the same agent as Phil Jackson and knows things that he can't say, and to not question him because he was there, etc. Very angry.

Of course, I would like to remind him that he was only there for road games and there was no social media, but he seems to believe that he's got all of the inside information on the Bulls and Krause wasn't the reason the team broke up.

Also, Dan wrote Laurence a 2 page letter about the expectations for covering the Bears for the Score when he took over the beat job because as Lawrence says, covering the Bears for the Score is a big deal.

These two are so over the top ridiculous.

Holmes bringing up how ex players and current players praise Fields. Mentions how current players don't want to play against him. I don't see why not - dude leads the bears to an explosive 20 ppg against these guys who are so afraid to play him. Such a dumbass time we live in

I heard the Brady Quinn stuff yesterday. I just keep wondering what I am missing. They all think Fields is Super Bowl caliber. I do not see it.

It'll be hilarious if Fields ended up with the same team as Getsy.

Can’t imagine that happening…what would be the rationale for the team that signed them—that all the offense’s issues were Eberflus’s fault?

Id hear Getsy out, not necessarily hire him right away. I understand it might be difficult to build an offense around a guy who refuses to let the ball go.

Wayne Gretzky also chimed in to add that Justin Fields would have scored more goals than he did.

A fun game to play in the car is to pretend larry or leila are callers and imagine how dan would have treated them ten years ago.

Earlier this week, Lawrence Holmes says he would give Justin Fields a high C grade, like a 79.

I find that grade amazing coming from Holmes about how the coaching is holding Fields back from being a superstar

And you showed off your intimate knowledge of a show you don’t listen to.

What is this big legal analysis of trying to make a hate crime? When did someone tear down and steal a Jackie Robinson statue?
