Knowing a bit of programming and software, one of the most challenging aspects of computer control is randomness. It's not possible to code a random output. But, with AI, it appears to be happening. To all of them, and they say it can't be eliminated completely.

AI is just software code, so it's not like it's doing anything outside of normal programming, but the scale that it operates leaves so many possible outcomes it can appear to be random.

Then shit like this happens

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technolo ... 273b&ei=25

I think we are seeing the early stages of consciousness. Or, a better way to put it, consciousness doesn't exist. Like time, we assimilate it to something that is tangible, when in reality its a perception. These AI systems are going to copy humans so well, we may find that we ourselves are nothing more than a series of fucking switches :o

Removing religion from the equation, what is the difference between our consciousness and that of AI's?

I don't think our conscious mimics. We're all subjective. AI is objective. Maybe once it has it's own opinion, it will be on the way to consciousness. Like if it watches old lady Jodie Foster having sex and legitimately goes "gross".

If we’re all subjective and we made AI how can AI be objective?

You're gay, I'm straight. What is AI? How would it know unless you tell it that it wants to bathe in a tub full of cum?

Everything AI spits out is subjective data that a man has programmed. The seeds of everything we believe come from the thoughts of someone else. Our opinions are also limited by the subjective data that has been input into our brains. AI and human brain operations are based on data processing and pattern recognition.

Ignoring our first 2 to 3 years of biological amnesia, neither is conscious without a computer. Removing religion from the equation, our brains are what makes us unique.

We aren't programming ai. It is evolving on its own. We put the guide rails on it. It doesn't seem any different than raising a kid.

AI is closer to a highly intelligent parrot.

Uh.. doesn't language evolve off the environment? By necessity or vocabulary assimilance?

Quote:
Jamie Dimon says AI may be as impactful on humanity as printing press, electricity and computers
PUBLISHED MON, APR 8 20246:15 AM EDT
UPDATED AN HOUR AGO

Jamie Dimon, the veteran CEO and chairman of JPMorgan Chase
, said he was convinced that artificial intelligence will have a profound impact on society.

In his annual letter to shareholders released Monday, Dimon chose AI as the first topic in his update of issues facing the biggest U.S. bank by assets — ahead of geopolitical risks, recent acquisitions and regulatory matters.

“While we do not know the full effect or the precise rate at which AI will change our business — or how it will affect society at large — we are completely convinced the consequences will be extraordinary,” Dimon said.

The impact will be “possibly as transformational as some of the major technological inventions of the past several hundred years: Think the printing press, the steam engine, electricity, computing and the Internet.”

Dimon’s letter, read widely in the business world because of his status as one of the most successful leaders in finance, hit a wide variety of topics. The CEO said that he had ongoing concerns about inflationary pressures and reiterated his warning that the world may be entering the riskiest era in geopolitics since World War II.

But his focus on AI, first mentioned in this format in a 2017 shareholder letter, stood out. The technology, which has gained in prominence since ChatGPT became a viral sensation in late 2022, can generate human-sounding responses to queries. Enthusiasm for AI has fueled the meteoric rise in chipmaker Nvidia
and helped propel tech names to new heights.

JPMorgan now has more than 2,000 AI and machine learning employees and data scientists, Dimon said. But the technology could ultimately touch all of the bank’s roughly 310,000 employees, assisting some workers while replacing others.

“Over time, we anticipate that our use of AI has the potential to augment virtually every job, as well as impact our workforce composition,” Dimon said. “It may reduce certain job categories or roles, but it may create others as well.”

Do we really think it is gross or are we programmed to think it is gross?

Does chicken really tastes like chicken? How do we know for sure.

We have nothing that we can say we control. Everything on earth is out of our control. We are just vessels in decaying minds and bodies.

Donald Hoffman sometimes makes sense and sometimes makes no sense at all. The whole 'just asking questions' tends to hit a brick wall when we leave the planet and land on Mars and take photographs.

The great Tyson Bagent and MANY Christians believe in predestination. A heathen like Robert Sapolsky has written MANY books about free will being an illusion. It sounds like It Was Written one way or another for AI and for me.

Chat GPT is predicting that Mike Tyson will beat Jake Paul in their boxing match in November even though Paul is the current favorite.

It's hard to disagree with Chat GPT on this prediction. I think Tyson will win.
