Agents definitely grease the skids and make it easier to get things done. Florio gave Lamar endless shit for not having an agent in his recent negotiations with the Ravens.

I get the sense that even more than Lamar's mom helped him out with negotiations C-Will's dad's gonna end up being his de facto agent. And wouldn't be surprised if Carl Williams ends up registering as an agent down the road and representing other unrelated athletes. Probably not necessary to register as an agent to work on behalf of your son in negotiations with sponsors and teams.

Another perfect reason to not draft that prima donna. :eye: :eye:

Really? I don't think so. All of those kids have failed to merit where they are drafted

Getting drafted at all is incredibly hard to achieve.

Both have merited multiple contracts and legitimate careers in the NBA.

It’s not a parenting failure that they don’t have rings.

Williams already has a team of people given NIL. Any top 5 pick is stupid to sign an agent. Just use the same people that got you a Dr Pepper commercial.

Come-on. You know where I am talking about. Ball's old man didn't do shit for his sons. I watched all three of those kids play in High school and that dufus old man of their's making a fool of himself and trust me he made coaches turn away from his kids because of him. If Williams goes the way that they did I really don't what anything to do with him.

theres at least 100 other guys just as good as the ball kids. they worked their asses off and got drafted and paid. but at least 98 others just as good as them didnt. in this case, they earned it and their dad brought in more attention they they probably wouldnt have had otherwise.

Peter King says he believes the Bears will trade the pick. He was tapped into Poles last year. I would still be shocked if that was true. Poles speaks tomorrow, so there should be some clarity then or by the start of free agency.

Bears would be smart to trade that pick.

If I could get the Redskins, Patriots, or Giants to trade up they should jump on that. Those teams are all gonna have high draft choices again next year, and if you swap picks with them this year you can still get a decent QB prospect with your first pick this year. Having multiple first-round picks every year is a great way to keep improving. Williams is no sure thing.

i think the bears can get a good QB this year, I just don't necessarily think it has to be caleb williams.

If teams are willing to trade a haul to get Caleb Williams (as you suggest) then the Bears should probably just draft Caleb Williams

they found a team willing to trade up for Bryce Young. by your logic they should have just drafted Bryce Young.

They should have drafted CJ Stroud.

The Bears were still trying to decide on Fields, and I don't think Young or Stroud excited them. It's different this year. The Bears have a roster that can compete, especially if the quarterback is good to great.

We will find out next year who you think the Bears "should have" taken after the season is complete.

I wouldn't go near 3. Daniels is too much of a risk. Honestly, the gap between C-Will and Maye isn't small enough where a top 15 #1 pick in 2025 makes sense. Also, I seriously doubt the Redskins would offer a 2025 first round pick+ to move up a slot. You would likely be getting a 2nd round pick+ for him. That isn't close to enough.

You take Caleb Williams. This is like wondering if Micheal Beasley is better than derrick rose.

The Bears have a great opportunity, they are a young team with some good young players. They are in a unique position to really capitalize. However, if I were a Bears fan I would be really hoping the QB they are really eyeing is someone other than Caleb Williams.
