Yep. If it didn't matter then there would always be the same number of scouts at his game against Nevada as there happen to be when he plays Notrre Dame.

We've gone from C-Will is the next Patrick Mahomes to head to head comparison with Jettisoned Fields...

What does the 2024 Atlanta Hawks starting QB have to do with Caleb Williams record of failure/losses against any team not getting a post-game check from USC for showing up and taking the L?

Not sure where the idea that a guy who loses any time he steps on the field against a good team should be the #1 overall pick came from.

One of the dem Saudi backed disinformation campaigns to dupe Americans into believing the opposite of reality? All the bots on twitter say it, so it must be true

Some media calling bs on it, ESPN mocks C-Will as 10th overall

Image

Image

Could be C-Will not even putting on a uniform nevermind playing against Louisville was an example of Samurai Mike's "playing with 10 people" / addition by subtraction?

Destroy teams like Louisville and Utah is what the #1 overall pick with multiple years of top 10 recruiting classes and adding a top 3 xfer portal class should do.

USC destroyed Louisville with Miller Moss

Why couldn't C-Will do it against Utah or half the Pac12 with the same roster (plus/minus C-Will)?

Jackson Powers-Johnson didn't run. I'm standing by my opinion that he's really slow.

I think it can limit the offenses he can be in. If it didn't matter, I'm confident he wouldn't have faked a hamstring injury.

The pick the Cardinals got back from the Texans, for trading them their 3rd pick in the 2023 draft, will be the 27th pick in this draft.

The Texans will receive No. 3 and No. 105 overall, and will send the Cardinals the No. 12, and No. 33 picks, as well as first round pick and a third round pick in 2024.

The CJ Stroud effect. Best Ohio State QB ever. The second best is CJ Stroud. Third best is also CJ Stroud

ouch, that didn't go according to Arizona's plan. Prolly expecting Texassans to be 3rd or last place in their division, not win the darn thing + a playoff win.

Yeah, I would have expected a top 10 pick. That ended up being an awful trade. They traded the 33 pick for peanuts too.

Wait wasn't their net profit the following?

Give up #3

Receive:
Paris Johnson (2023)
Pick 33 (2023)
Pick 27 (2024)
2024 third round

Haven't looked into Johnson much but he seems to have had a decent rookie year at a premium position.

They traded back up to 6. They gave up their 34th and 168th pick to do that.

#6 Paris Johnson
#41 BJ Ojulari
#72 Garrett Williams
#27 2024
#90 2024

That's a shit return for giving up your #3, #33, #34, and other late round picks.

I agree with LTG on this. It’s fair to question why his performance against top teams has been spotty. That’s not the only thing that matters of course but to dismiss it like it doesn’t is not being objective.

There’s a difference between questioning it and using it as your mic drop as to why he can’t succeed at the next level. Also, insinuating he always performs poorly against top competition is misleading -he lead his team to victory against ND two years ago, and performed well against Washington this past year but his team still lost.

But, in the spirit of discussion why don’t any of you lay it on the rest of us -using examples- of top prospect QB’s whose poor performance against rivals and top ranked teams translated in some meaningful way to them failing at the next level? I’ve already given some examples of elite QB’s who shit the bed in college that went on to have success at the next level.. so where are all these elite busts to prove your end of the point?

I can be swayed with evidence to alter my opinion, so.. provide the evidence.

He’s viewed by most as the top prospect at his position -there’s no sense in taking a risk in an uncontrolled environment to lower his value. It’s the same reason Harrison Jr and Williams wouldn’t perform or do anything either. They don’t want to risk their positioning by having a poor performance in any given area giving prospective teams reason to put someone ahead of them in their draft board.

It’s a smart move business wise. Besides, watch his film. There’s plenty of it showing what a great athlete he is.

When it's all said and done it's tough to take a board that believes that Tyson Bagent was a viable alternative to Justin Fields seriously. That was actually a discussion on here.

It seems as most of Caleb Williams big plays come on busted coverage.

That actually seriously did. Not. Happen.

What did take place was an undrafted DII quarterback started a few games and was not appreciably worse than Fields. This lead MANY to finally realize that Fields was not the guy and that the Bears should move on from H1M if they want to actually have hopes of becoming a playoff/championship caliber team.

Its funny how LTG is trying to bash Williams for putting up big plays/numbers against bad teams because the only time in his NFL career that Fields has put up wins with big games is against shitty teams

May not have been flawless on the board. I don't know how to read this.

Bagent's QBR was better. Only because he didn't take sacks. It wasn't 3rd and 14 once or twice every drive. Shit like that is important. Along with the Bears taking penalties constantly, which happened to the both of them.

It's not only becaus he didn't voluntarily take sacks like Fields did, it's also because he made throws when they were available, which is something Fields notoriously does not do.

Bagent's career path is clearer than Fields: he's a backup training to be a backup.

Fields is a starter who doesn't know he's a backup.

   Because Fields was so bad.

"Bagent might be a backup" isn't the same and clamoring for H1M to sign a $300 million extension. Facts matter until they don't.

I see no lies in that post. Ignoring talent, if you asked me which player is likely to significantly improve, I would bet on Bagent. He will be a fine backup to our first franchise quarterback since Sid Luckman. He could get us a quality draft pick in return one day.

No lies, but while perusing I also ran across a post from some guy named Nas that was all in on Maye and thought C-Will was going to be a bust.

Nas was a VICTIM of C-Will hate propaganda and my own laziness. I think I'll make a better effort to not believe what the media is selling without doing my own homework in the future. I don't think I said anything about bust, but I definitely had Maye over him.
