I'll dump scouting videos from experts here.

https://youtu.be/LK9W09JDzeo?si=UVjFde_1n3sLcqjN

Not promising stuff from Kurt Warner. The sum is in the tapes he watched Caleb either wasn't asked to read/go through progressions all that much or it's not clear if he can do that. He said he sees a lot of off script stuff and one read plays but not the pocket play you need to have at the NFL level.

I saw this yesterday. He was being critical of their offense. There weren't any criticisms of the ability of C-Will to see the field. Our favorite QB analyst, JT O'Sullivan, has a shitload of videos breaking down C-Will's play. One of the best ones is the Notre Dame game from this year.

I understood there to be criticism of the offense for sure but also a lot of "not sure if he's creating because he's not reading". Will check again to confirm.

So he says he's not able to grade Williams' ability/willingness to play like a classic pocket QB because most of the tapes he saw contain a lot of off script/playmaking stuff. So I think he'd say Williams' grade for playmaking and whatnot is an A while his grade on pocket stuff is incomplete/not enough information.

That was pretty much his take. He hates that offense though. He didn't think the routes went together. He thought guys were just running random routes and they were relying on C-Will to make shit happen. They ran the same play like 7 times. I thought he was going to stroke out on the last one.

I don't even believe that's his real name. Didn't I see him on TV selling flex seal?

Wasn’t Warner the guy who said he couldn’t assess Fields without having perfect knowledge of practices, meeting room discussions and the play calls?

He never liked Fields but awkwardly couched his opinion in the face of The Resistance.

I'm not sure but he said something similar in the link above. He said he doesn't have the benefit of interviewing Williams so he can walk Warner through his thought process. So absent that he said he can't comment on Williams' in structure capabilities because he didn't see it much. I think it's fair to say that. That said, he has been honest on Fields during his 670 appearances - he's not just pandering to the hosts like that one guy on Bernstein/Holmes, and he's not going scorched earth like Michael Lombardi did on Mitch and Fields. He's saying what he needs to say to avoid being labeled as too extremely critical (Fields made progress, he does this well) but in the end Warner is clearly saying Fields isn't special. He's the most honest guest on the score re: Fields. Might be one other guy I can't remember currently.

Andy Reid said, "There's nobody that knows a good quarterback more than the o-line. You want to scout somebody, go talk to the o-line. They'll tell you whether he's got it or doesn't have it."

I didn't realize he was Jim McMahon's o-lineman in college.

Warner is essentially saying it's impossible to project if a QB will be great or not because the college game doesn't ask them to do things that are expected of them in the pros.

Did he tell scouts that McMahon would suck?

In Green Bay? Probably.

Super Bowl Mac played in a different era. I don't have any great memories of him playing, but older Bears fans swear by him. I'll defer to them.

I saw his whole career and he was more about attitude than talent. He was the king of the wobble pass. There's a reason why Hampton hated him.

I don't have a beef Warner for his take. Even in the video you shared, there may have been 1 or 2 plays where he thought C-Will bailed too early. Warner was fortunate not to have to worry about making off platform plays because the talent and scheme around him was great.

I think Sean Payton knows a thing or two about quarterbacks. He thought the league would have to change the draft because everyone would be tanking for C-Will. That didn't happen, but he thought this kid was a can't miss prospect.

Today, I finally learned why Keyshawn Johnson is down on C-Will. While he had 120 total touchdowns and only 19 total turnovers in his career, Keyshawn believes too many of his turnovers came at the wrong time with him playing hero ball. I did see a couple fumbles like that, so I won't dismiss that gripe. That said, Keyshawn ignores the fact that he had to play that way because the defense was giving up 40 to 50+ points in those games, and the talent around him was mediocre at best. They also won MANY games or took the lead with under 2 minutes to play because of that style of play. It's also not lost on me that Keyshawn loves Fields despite his history of 4th quarter bed wetting.

I think that's BS on Keyshawn's part. He's trying to create a cover for his bizarre pro Fields propaganda. He knows nothing about QB play or college ball. There is no statistical evidence that suggests Fields is a good quarterback.

I need to take another look at Daniels and Penix more. I don't get what MANY see in either player, especially Daniels.

Daniels is getting a lot of love from some of the guys I'm following. My summary of what those guys are saying is he's Justin Fields with much better pocket awareness. That's not an attractive selling point for me but I'm just a messenger
