They all got hurt at some point. In the episode where they start off as carpenters, then join the police force, Moe fell off a table and broke 3 ribs. In "Violence is the Word for Curly" (Super Soivice, "B-A-Bay, B-E Bee") Curly got burned pretty badly when they were thawing him out.

They also had real-life injuries too. Larry was burned badly as a kid and was told to pickup the violin as therapy, so whenever you see him playing violin or piano, its really him playing. Curly shot himself in the foot while hunting as a yoot, which is why he limps and took up ballroom dancing as therapy for that.

A lot of those where the ink pen would get on someone's face or some dynamite would explode and the characters face would be black w/ big lips. Not to mention the maid...

Yeah, same thing with the cartoons. I can see the art in it now. I just look at it as a part of U.S. history. I could choose to be offended by it but to be honest, some of it is still funny despite the racism.

it's funny that the thread has headed this way considering the all-inclusive nature of these DVD's. A lot of Stooge episodes have been held back before due to insulting racism. They Stooge to Conga is a good example of that. I highly doubt the Stooges were racist; after all, they had to change their Jewish names, et al, but you never know...

I think as a child I played the curly way to many times over and over on my old 45.

It is still a toss up between the boxing one and exterminator one for my favorite. The best thing is that The humor transcends generations. Sometimes on saturday night the little one and i will sit up in my bed and watch stooge-a-palozza, she thinks it's like a live old version of spongebob with the way everyone is acting. I even pull up the video for curly shuffle for her once and a while online and she just starts laughing and going nyuk nyuk nyck
