Looks like Arkansas is about to lose their coach to USC.

I obviously don't have inside information but I predict that Underwood will be your next coach.

Musselman has been checked out since January. Everything just crumbled there.

I don’t think Muss has the attention span to stay anywhere long or his history sure shows that. I have not heard any names as far as replacements. He’ll last Saturday he and the AD released a Tweet saying he was coming back then the USC coach left for SMU.

Arkansas may have the most dramatic coaching drama of anywhere. What is with you people?

And I just found out the AD was in the Final 3 for the A&M AD job. And, I fully expect Pittman to be fired in season with Petrino taking back over.

I don't follow college basketball very much. Why would Underwood prefer Arkansas, the Wisconsin of the South, to Illinois?

I think you hit the nail on the head. He is not wired to stay anywhere long. And I am sure he is attracted the lights and glamor of So Cal.

I don't follow college basketball very much. Why would Underwood prefer Arkansas, the Wisconsin of the South, to Illinois?

There have been reports that Underwood wasn't happy about a few things at Illinois going into the year. He was pushed over the edge with the Shannon suspension. Shannon told him about it before the season but said it was all lies and Underwood believed him. When he got suspended he was all but done. He had already reached out to a few schools in season he knew would be open. Illinois finding a way to get him back was done in a very calculated way. People knew about a week ahead of time that Shannon was likely coming back even before the court order. Illinois let the courts be the ones who forced their hand but Illinois didn't appeal or do anything. Ironically, one of things keeping Underwood in Illinois is that based on his history in public education he supposedly has a MASSIVE retirement package coming his way based on years of service both at Illinois and Western Illinois. We're talking highest paid retiree in Illinois history type of numbers and probably way ahead though it sounds like Illinois did add some sort of cap on some types of compensation on it but it tracks with a percentage of your salary and he makes a huge salary.

So, a pay bump for Underwood may keep him there if the relationship can be worked out especially since the Shannon stuff is mostly irrelevant.

So it's not really that he prefers Arkansas. He just has to get over whatever problem he has with his bosses.

Arkansas probably has a better basketball history too, but not sure if that matters.

Because his life game plans are as bad as his basketball game plans?

I don't doubt it. But will he have the benjamins to dole out? If he does, by all means, GO! People gotta stop with this recruiting thing. Saban said it himself. MONEY now recruits.

Lafayette = beech forest
Fayette = little fairy

It's a little offensive to think they are the same.

What a killer post. Is that something in the Purdue ether or did you think of that?

Tell me why it's better instead.

I've been to both a few times, and left unimpressed by both.
