Womens' hoops is actually a very nuanced and strategic sport. You have to know what you're looking at when they fall down on defense so much. It's a tactic.

Right

You didn't need to worry about the latter until replay eliminated the phantom tag.

Yeah plays at second were great back in the day when the fielder was catching the ball in the outfield grass while the runner was sliding right at him and they were still calling the force out.

That's the formerly suicidal Greg Doyel, a Dan Bernstein favorite, cranking up the creepiness factor of the press conference.

They should definitely pay their players more. Fast forward to two weeks from now after the first round of checks are sent and all teams fold.

X/Twitter is funny...every other post on my timeline right now (people i don't follow of course) is about WNBA salaries and Caitlin Clark. It's insane. I haven't blocked Jemele Hill but she must have like 50 different posts about it already.

How many games have the X complainers attended and do they not respect collectively bargained contracts?

WNBA has decided to play its players more. It just needs to ask the NBA owners to give it more money first.

It's like a kid taking a date to a nice restaurant by using his parents credit card.

the other hot topic is "Caitlin Clark has a signature shoe !! "

then they go on to wonder why X/Y/Z players don't have a signature shoe despite being more accomplished

its pretty funny

I hope these ladies are able to play in all of their games and not have to "rest" every third game like their dead ass counterparts in the NBA. Imagine paying 15$ to see CC play only to have her in street clothes for scheduled rest.

Dan and Larry just replayed the coach interview and had another Cait segment. Someone is wanting to push something.

Elena Delle Donne’s and Sabrina Ionescu’s Nikes have been cooler than a lot of the men’s shoes.

This show is probably going to cover the WNBA now. They've been sort of pushing it already, definitely cover it more than the Blackhawks, or men's college sports.

I don't have any issue with these women's basketball players being covered. Their popularity is organic. Talking about them is simply responding to a real demand.

That's a lot different than trying to talk about stuff that only you care about. Like Rick Telander writing about Dartmouth women's swimming.

I think 10 years or so we will see more girls dunking, and the league will really take off.

It’s going to be a flash in the pan

There’s an initial spike but it’ll wear off quick and no one will speak of it again

It’s more a cultural moment like Furby

There is going to be a lot of "Why aren't people watching the WNBA? 10 million people watched her in college? Why are WNBA ratings getting beat by reruns of The Goldbergs?"
