The show is fully united against giving the Bears any $$$ for a new stadium. No issue with that or them having opinions although some of this does sound like they just want to rail against evil billionaires.

A few weeks back, Leila was defensive in saying that on NBC Chicago, she just provides the news without an opinion, but on the Score she can give her opinions. I don't think she either understands or realizes how that blurs the lines for listeners. When you hear nothing but extremely far left positions on most topics where they delve into social/politics, but also want to assure you that they don't cross that line in their news reporting....that just brings up all kinds of laughs knowing how left the news is, especially NBC.

This past week, Laurence and Dan railed on Crain's Chicago for not being good journalists and being a mouthpiece for the Bears/White Sox. Now, these two have switched back to journalists from commentators again and would have you believe they aren't doing the exact same thing for Pritzker (and they thought Brandon Johnson). BTW, as a socialist, Johnson was a fantastic candidate, but as the actual mayor, they are both shocked that he's such a bust.

Anyways, now that these two are wearing their journalist caps again, while also seemingly picking a side....the lines are blurry.

On Wednesday's show, Dan and Laurence both said that there is a reason why Mike Clevinger was resigned by the White Sox, but they can't say on the radio what it was.

Any idea what they claiming (but probably speculating)?

La Russa is running the White Sox although that wouldn't seem like anything they couldn't say.

I took this as if they said the "truth" they could have legal action taken by the White SOx.

I have little use for Holmes - this guy has some of the worst football thoughts while couching everything in his conversations with sources. Strange person, everything is racist to him that he disagrees with, not a good person to be peddling that.
I do like Bernstein (even though he talks himself into believing things that are not true) when he interested in sports and not his ugly social thoughts. So, most of the time, I'm ok with Bernstein even though I disagree with him on anything non-sports.

I do enjoy calling out the hypocrisy of both hosts though because they are both unlikeable people who preach/talk down to everyone else.

That's probably the answer. They are both very defensive when they are questioned on having sources or the quality of them. They both believe that having sources (or claiming to have them) gives them credibility. I think their sources are social media most of the time, and Laurence's sources are the former Bears players that he covered like Alex Brown. I don't think either are close to any of the current teams they cover, they both take pride on air for the White Sox not liking the station (according to them), but also think their show is so influential that they have team execs, etc. (people you'd be shocked by) texting both of them on a daily basis, but they have to decide what to share and how to so they don't burn a source. It's pretty hilarious when you know they use Twitter, a site they now claim to hate, but are on it non-stop, as their news gathering/topics for the show.

We have the best sources for all WSCR matters- BearDown and BD. Their attentiveness and insightful reporting are a gift that keeps on giving. Thank you both.

15 minutes into Bernsie and Holmes after about 6 months of not listening and I can’t do it any longer. Dan is “making a note” that Caleb is a “yeah guy” who answers every question in the affirmative as a verbal tic. BEARS!!

Holmes then equates Caleb being drafted #1 to him graduating from Alabama as a 40-year-old taking classes online.

Laurence rarely irritates me. To me his insecure quirks are semi-endearing. That said, getting all feminine today and sermonizing about emotions was gay as hell.

I used to like Holmes until I started reading this board, now every foible sticks out like a sore thumb. I tend to agree with you on Bernstein, when he sticks to sports, he's actually pretty good. Although, I think he adds the political and societal commentary, intentionally, in order to tweak people.

I tried one more time. They are still giving permission to fans to feel good about things, this time it's the draft. Thank God, I'm now allowed Father Dan.

Also, wasn't he bitching about his kids not going to graduation as an outrage and he was telling a story about how he was so hammered at his graduation he doesn't remember it and kids were puking in their gowns to hide it.
