It’s not like we posted a video of a barely completed pass in the same situation and then waxed poetically about it.

You have a point Zippy.

But he can't throw!

https://www.behindthesteelcurtain.com/2 ... washington

Quote:
The new Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback was putting on a show during Day Six of Steelers OTAs. He threw a beautiful pass to tight end Darnell Washington over the middle of the field during seven-on-sevens. During team drills in the red zone, Fields evaded pressure and threw a beautiful sidearm pass to Marquez Callaway at the front right pilon of the end zone that was right on the money.

Fields also threw a bullet to the back middle portion of the end zone through multiple defenders to tight end MyCole Pruitt for a touchdown, and had a scramble that resulted in a jump pass to Washington in the end zone that sent the sideline into a frenzy.

Against 2nd and 3rd team players on a declining defense. Congratulations, Justin! Unfortunately, those guys don't play a lot during the season.

He's also older now. He was extremely young here. I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a legit starter.

In fairness to Fields, he looked great in OTAs at times last year according to media reports.

He will beat Wilson out for the spot at some point this season. Book it!

I think that's obvious. But I also think Wilson could easily get it back if he loses it too. Pitt doesn't wait around for things to evolve.

It's obvious that Justin Fields has Russell Wilson shook.

Yeah, Tomlin will have to be extremely stubborn for Fields not to get a shot.

Russ is completely washed. Fields should have that job by week 8.

They have a lot of question marks on offense and Watt probably isn't good enough to carry that defense.

There's nothing in the article you posted that suggests Wilson feels shook.

He will also be better this season than C-Will. Book it.

What question was he asked? For some reason they didn't tell us. Let's me know that article is click bait BS.

They have a lot more on defense than Watt. Who is still in his prime btw.

Wilson suggesting that Fields would be great as another Kordell Stewart is evidence that he feels pressure from Justin Fields.

Regardless of who starts, they've upgraded at quarterback. That said, when Watt went out a couple of years ago, the defense collapsed. He's older, and I'm not sure you can count on greatness and good health. Of course, you're closer to the team than I am. I just casually follow and hope Harris scores a lot of points for my dynasty team.

But Justin Fields can't throw. Or so I've been repeatedly told by CFMB's Football "gurus".

Who doesn’t love the deep ball? In this section, we will use different deep ball metrics to evaluate Justin Fields’ skill in throwing deep passes.

When it comes to throwing the deep ball, Justin Fields was one of the best in 2023. Fields owned a 96.7 PFF passing grade on throws greater than 20 yards. According to PFF, 14.1 percent of Fields’ pass attempts in 2023 were deep ball attempts. Fields completed 44.2 percent of his deep ball attempts last season.

We’ve all seen the Robert Tonyan clip from the Cleveland game many times. But it wasn’t just Tonyan in that moment. The Bears, as a team, had serious problems with dropping deep balls this season. Fields’ deep ball drop percentage in 2023 was 17.9 percent, which ranked seventh-highest among quarterbacks with more than 30 deep ball attempts.

Among quarterbacks with 30-plus attempts of 20 or more yards, Fields ranked sixth in the league with a 114.6 passer rating on those throws. Fields ranked fifth in the NFL in Big Time Throw Percentage (BTT%), defined as a pass with excellent ball location and timing, generally thrown further down the field and/or into a tighter window).

If he was so good at throwing the deep ball, why didn't he throw it more often? Just asking question.

If he was so good at throwing the deep ball, why is he a backup QB now? Just asking another question.

If the NBA playoffs are such a great thing, why are you continuing to talk about off season out of town football? Just asking yet another question.

How big is your penis? Just ask...nevermind.

If you are so smart, then why does everyone think you're a fucking idiot?

If you are a "heterosexual" male, then why did you pull your dick out in front of a group of other "men" and hump a damn car?

If you are a "man" of honor and an "honest" truth teller, then why did you lie and continuously lie about showing up in Bridgeport with your gutless ass?

And if you aren't a fucking internet stalker, then why does every poster in the history of CFMB (besides me) have to place your pathetic and rather miserable ass on their foe list just to get rid of you?

Just Asking "Relevant" Questions!

Josh Schrock, who along with Wiederer is probably the most reliable Bears beat reporter, says that Williams is already routinely making throws that he never saw Fields execute at any point during his Bears tenure. According to Schrock, Williams is making pinpoint, "layered" throws, throwing with anticipation, and changing arm angles on screen passes to get the play off as quickly as possible. Hoge and Fishbain, who are less reliable than Schrock, also say that Williams is distributing the ball in ways that Fields never could. He's finding backup tight ends and 4th wide receivers for big gains in contrast to Fields' singular focus on DJ Moore in last year's preseason workouts and training camp.

You may not agree with him, but Wiederer is the only media guy who generally isn't afraid to tell you what they think about players or coaches. Cronin is also solid, but she's been cozying up to management lately. I hope my girl isn't compromised.

I generally find Schrock to be honest and accurate in his observations. He was not part of the lemming contingent who assiduously worked to get Fields over. Hoge and Jahns were egregious in this respect, especially at the beginning of the Fields era.

I don't consume Schrock much. He's usually on with Kenneth Davis, and I have no use for that guy. Crying because Fields got traded is next level craziness.
