I actually like Giddey as a player. They benched him in the playoffs though which isn't a good look. But he is a big point guard that can score a little bit too. Him and SGA probably didn't mesh too well on the court because they both need the Ball in their hands. Bulls needed a pure point guard type after all of the 2a and 3s that they had play the position. Plus he's stil young. Solid move by AK

On one end, I understand trading a 30 year old role player for a 21 year old. Caruso will be more valuable to OKC that he is to this team. Giddey was the #6 pick just 3 years ago with some questions on his ability/decision making, but there is still upside here and he can handle the ball. Still, coming off a season where he got benched in the playoffs.

I think the surprising part is that OKC has dozens of picks and the Bulls somehow came away with nothing. I know AK is going to say Giddey would have been a high pick in this draft and that may be true, but just odd to see no picks coming back to Chicago.

Giddey does have decent stats, although he did regress this past season....but Caruso is likely to continue to be oft-injured and he would have gotten a 4 year / $78 million deal next off-season.

I would think he ends up as a starter for the Bulls though. He is another ball handler which was needed. Now we'll see if they attempt to retool the rest of the roster with Zach moving next and/or try to address rim protection and more shooting.

I'm still thinking they are trying to compete, but are going to make some moves with Zach next to reshape the roster vs. rebuild so still expect them to resign DeMar.

You're right. The rumor was some team or teams was offering two 1sts for Caruso. What's Giddey worth? I don't think it equals Caruso but I guess we'll see. No doubt the Thunder will have to be cautious of Caruso's injury history. I want to see him healthy for the '25 playoffs.

i dont see a problem with the trade. i read it was a straight swap? caruso isnt going to get better, and he has a tendency to get hurt. at 30 years old, its not uphill from here. hes a now guy, and the bulls are not ready for anything right now.
