Their current car is better for road racing than ovals. Nascar should build a road course. Watkins Glen is the only track they haven't had to rip seats out of it since the slump. What they did to Charlotte is criminal.

I think in the last 30 years they haven't sold out the Nascar race only twice. That's without removing seats like all the other tracks. Watkins Glen is a great track. We're fortunate to have 3 of the best road courses in the World here. It would be hard to choose a favorite out of Watkins, Road America, and Road Atlanta. I've done track days at all 3 and I'd probably give Road America a slight edge. COTA on the other hand is trash. Worst designed track I've ever driven. What a wasted opportunity.

Actually, the drivers and their teams love this street course and coming to Chicago. The course itself is surprisingly excellent and provides outstanding racing. SVG and Larson had a fantastic duel in the first 20 laps or so of Saturday's Xfinity race. The racing Sunday was interesting but Nascar was very unlucky again with the rain. For selfish reasons, I want Nascar to go back to Chicagoland Speedway where the racing would be great with this car but you can't deny that the racing and the overall optics of racing on the lakefront make the street course a special event. It's a terrible race to view in person and obvioulsy it inconveniences the people who work and live in the area but for a fan watching from his couch, it's a great race.
