I had a sneaky suspicion that Bronny James was going to sit out the 2nd game after struggling in the first.

I can see him sitting out when they get to Vegas too.

Bronny James 3rd year is a partial guarantee and his 4th year is a team option.

I base it on the fact that outside of the posts on this board, I have never once in my life encountered a real human being EVER talk about the NBA summer league in any context ever, at work, in bars, at parties or any other situation saturated with sports fans.

I doubt that you move in the sort of circles that talk regular season basketball either. Which is indicative of what exactly? You and a few people that you converse with? Fact is you and your little "bubble" aren't exactly on the "cutting edge" when it comes to sports. The games in Vegas routinely sellout and ESPN at times has drawn over a million fans to watch them. Not bad for "Off Season Basketball" huh?

Guys like you who cling to the ramblings of nondescript sports figures like Julie DiCaro are hardly qualified to discuss what is and isn't important in sports.
Virtually no one outside of this board gives a shit about anything she says and yet you have 3 pages worth of comments in her thread alone.

Well that settles it then I guess. “Yeah but YOU posted in the DiCaro thread!” is strong evidence that the summer league is wildly popular.

It's not popular because people that don't much care for basketball regardless believe it's not popular? Got it. And you might not know this, but I doubt very seriously if anyone is basing their opinion of Summer League basketball on anything that you and a few people whom you know happen to think. .

  that’s fine. Good for you. I won’t watch it on TV unless Wembenyama is playing last summer or Zion and Ja Morant a few years back, Luka/Ayton/Trae in 2018, etc. I remember as a kid being excited about Rose and watching his games and/or highlights.

I can tell you it’s a good time going to watch live. Lots of these guys are fighting for the 14th/15th spot on a roster. It’s Spring Training but in Vegas. And you aren’t necessarily separated by field vs seats. Presidents/VPs/GMs (some former players now) are walking around back and forth between both facilities who you’ll bump into. Writers are there. And some star players will show up for support and you may see them at the casino later. $45 day pass isn’t bad to catch the games you want. Wynn buffet, some gambling and people watching — it’s a nice getaway for how cheap rooms are in July.

Back when Jordan had hair, the NBA had pre draft camp at UIC. Open to the public. I walked in and plopped my ass down next to Frank Layden and talked. Mostly he talked. He was a talker.

I grew up watching NBA Pro Ams at IIT. I grew up within an earshot of IIT. A lot of those games were competitive as hell. Even with guys that really didn't have much to play for other than street cred and pride. You could walk in from Friday Night til Monday and never know who might show up. I can remember watching Jordan play there when I was a kid. Terry Cummings. A very young Tim Hardaway. Then later you had guys like Garnett and Marbury who'd show up for a weekend. Back then if you were an actual fan of basketball, it was something that couldn't be beat. You had everyone from NBA All Stars to playground legends showing up on any given night. And the games were free at that. It was great fun for a kid or even an adult to see in the Summertime.
You had to lace them up even as a pro because if you didn't those ignorant ass fans would heckle the shit out of you and you'd never live it down

It's crazy now in retrospect, isn't it?

Layden liked Tufano's and Nate McMillan.

That’s a fair response. Not as funny as “but but but you post in the DiCaro topic”, but you bring up some good points. We all have niche sports and events we enjoy.

No you post quite a bit in Julie DiCaro's thread and I've never heard another "human" discuss her either. And something tells me(as I watch Utah's Summer League) that there is a helluva lot more interest in that than her Twitter ramblings.

I think it’s a low bar to be pumped that the basketball practice league might be more interesting than Julie, but you have to start somewhere.

But yet you have a profound interest in Julie nonetheless. Which means you are part of what helps comprise that "low bar".

In the meantime there are at minimum 10,000 people in Salt Lake to watch " Practice League Basketball currently while you are clinging to the latest ramblings of Julie DiCaro

You'd get 10,000 easily to watch July do a no handed back flip. Are you kidding me?

The Solheim Cup gets between 280K and 440K viewers each day. FAR SUPERIOR to that of the NBA Summer League games.

I love it when you analyze. And anal eyes.

Never heard of it. It's so great that you had to call it "The Ryder Cup" for women.

Listening to this idiot pontificate about what is or is not "interesting" is about as informative of an exercise as Listening to his "mate" Darko pontificate about what it takes for one to be comfortable with their "sexuality"

There is an entire Grimace meme based on a Score host's physical appearance. How many insulting things have been posting about Bernstein, or Mac, or Harry, or Kap, or countless others throughout the years? Until recently, this has always been a sports media driven board and members here will slam somebody who is as bad as their job as Julie is. Gender makes no difference.

She gets shit on, constantly, because she is terrible at sports- and at life. Just last week she joked about "being single" as her husband was trying to catch however many flights to get back home because his original one was cancelled due to weather. She is employed by a sports station. Its not a simple screw up like the "two games or three games" today meme. She gets stats wrong. She gets players wrong. She posts a selfie with a 'cute pose' in her "Play Almora" shirt even though he has had one of the worst OPS numbers among regular players in all of MLB. She is awful at sports and if she is going to be on a sportsradio station and put herself out there on Twitter and the other social media platforms she visits, she can either deal with the heat or get out of the kitchen. The same is true of every single sports media person in America today- male, female, or other.
