I still "enjoy" them, but I now question most of the reporting. I have to listen to multiple reports to piece together what's likely accurate.

Wiederer seems to be a good source. I think the podcasts have made training camp reports insufferable. Some dude who played a lot of fantasy football so he thinks he can evaluate a QB.

If you scroll down Twitter, you'll see some reporters claiming the defense owned the offense today. You'll see others claiming the offense owned the defense. It's almost to the point where you need to see it to believe it. Wiederer is one of the voices I think can be objective.

Apparently, the offense dominated in 7-on-7s, but the defense dominated in full-team situational drills. Williams only had 5 completions total in 5 different full-team periods.

This makes sense.

He can't pass block to save his life, let alone Williams life.

This makes him pretty easy for a DC to scheme against after three years of tape.

I like Herbert as a pure runner (limited as a pass catcher, even worse as a blocker), but I wouldn't pay him beyond his rookie contract, especially if Swift/Johnson stay healthy and contribute. Teams are spending again on RB's, and the Bears did jump in on Swift so hard to see them investing more in the position, assuming health, after drafting Johnson as well.

I definitely think they want swift and roschon to be the main backs.

I have never understood why pass blocking is so hard for some RBs. It is mainly just effort. You dont have to have great technique. Just disrupt someone for an extra moment

I think Herbert may have some learning issues. Knowing what to do may also be an issue. He had a hard time learning the last playbook and he was just a running back.

you don't even have to make contact, just get in the way to prevent a straight path

No, it's good to see. He needs struggles to grow. I don't want to see someone report how great he's doing every day.

They've just started the padded practices, so Williams is probably struggling to play at the right speed/intensity level. He'll adjust to that, but he still needs to figure out what throws he can make in various situations.

I agree. Another reason I think he should play in the HoF game. He needs reps.

Heard Hub for the first time in a while today, speaking with Rosenbloom. He sounded like he was on helium, with a much faster cadence to his speech. Hopefully that's the only lingering symptom of his medical issue; otherwise, he sounded fine and mentally 100%. He said the Bears have the best WR unit in the league and also the best linebacking corps. He almost said best TEs too but then caught himself.

Best LBs? Edwards was great but Edmunds was average at best. I’d take the Jets, Chiefs and Jags ahead of them. Probably the Niners too if Campbell is healthy and motivated.

Edmunds played better in the second half of the season, just like Jordan Love!

The whole D played better once they started going against a string of mediocre QBs.

I haven't paid attention to the opening of training camp because I can't take the hot takes. Let's see how our QB looks week 1

Eberflus is tired of Nate Davis. It sounds like he could lose his job if he's out for more than a couple of days.

Because this clip slows down a bit for the throw it’s not easy to see.. but Williams has such a quick release when he decides he’s gonna throw it. Fields on the other hand has a bit of a wind up to his throw adding extra time. It will be nice to see a Bear QB with a quick release on his passes for a change.

Williams also has an insane ability to contort his body when making throws on the move which adds to the ‘wtf’ factor.

Personally I see more Prime Russell Wilson in his game than Mahomes. But as a fan I’ll take either comparison

You're more likely to be the ball than the QB, piggy.
