Again great for you. When he proves you wrong you will get amnesia like all of the other dudes around here happen to do all of the time. Why? because it's the CFMB way.

If he was a starter, he wouldn’t have been traded for a 6th round draft pick. It ain’t just CFMB, I assure you.

There are literally Hall of Famers that were acquired from a worse position than that. But hey CFMB doesn't want to talk about that.

The dude that he isn't expected to beat out was paid to walk away, yet the CFMB gurus don't want to admit that either.

That is great but again he was acquired for a 6th round draft pick.

Yes he was. And Tom Brady was a 6th Round Pick. And Kurt Warner was bagging groceries. And Warren Moon was playing in the CFL. So what's your point?

There is enough NFL film out there to comfortably say Justin is not Tom Brady, Kurt Warner, or Warren Moon.
I salute your fyre and pashun, but your position here is not going to age well.

He doesn't have to be either of these people and there was also enough film on them to suggest that none of them would be Hall Of Fame QBs either.

The "there wasn't enough film on them" is pretty laughable too as it makes it seem as if each was playing Pop Warner at the time NFL scouts missed on them.

The people here kept yelling that he sucks when clearly he doesn't and never has. And considering that they have been incorrect on so much of this already I'm quite comfortable in saying that the kid is going to break out within the next couple of years. No doubt about it

Steve Young is the best comparison. However, most fail to save their careers.

Also, I would argue the names Dr Style mentioned did have to make massive improvements. If you think Fields is bad now but he could improve then it's fair. Fields has to learn how to pass. Maybe he will.

Geno Smith may be another example. I do think Fields could be a decent starter with the right system & coaching. I'd bet he would succeed in SF or Miami for example.

Fields does not process at the speed you need to be a good NFL quarterback.
It"s who he is.

Yep. This is the same crowd that kept saying that coaching and supporting cast doesn't matter. Then all I watched the Bears do was fire his coach and drastically upgrade the supporting cast. Again some "analysis"

Geno’s a very good example. Maybe Alex Smith?

I don’t think he’d fit in a Shanahan style system. That’d require he make quick decisions and be accurate in the middle of the field without making a bunch of turnovers. He’s like the anti-Shanahan QB.

Going further, the production numbers for RPO QBs is trending down after spiking.
Defenses are figuring out how to defend it.
Fields is good at the R and we know how bad he is with P.

Does not bode well going forward.

Shanahan system rquires you to keep "eyes up"
That is not Fields.

DJ Moore had his best season as a receiver with a QB that the CFMBs gurus keeps insisting "can't pass". Makes perfect sense.

I guess I'm assuming an "offensive genius" like Shanahan would devise a scheme which plays to Fields strengths. It didn't work with Trey Lance though so you're probably right.

Geno Smith seems to fit more into the late career fluke category similar to a guy like Ryan Fitzpatrick. I don't think anyone is lamenting the fact that they missed out on Geno Smith.

Outside of a declining Cam Newton, and Baker Mayfield who would get good a year later and only started 6 games for Carolina it's a pretty good list of others who "can't throw".

I believe playing Quarterback at a high level, in general, requires you to keep your "eyes up"

Can't throw

https://www.si.com/nfl/bears/news/best- ... eep-throws

Quote:
According to Pro Football Focus tracking, he entered last week's game with a ridiculous 135.4 passer rating on throws of 20-plus yards. Then he hit DJ Moore on the deep TD pass of 39 yards.

"To be honest, I feel like deep balls, just in general, I feel like it's what I do best, to be honest with you," Fields said. "I think I throw the ball down the field exceptionally.

Justin Fields on the game they are referencing.

19/40, 166 yards, 1 touchdown, 2 interceptions.

What about his deep throws and what about shakes?

it really is amazing that six NFL GM’s in the top 12 picks chose to go with a rookie quarterback rather than trade for this fantastic deep ball thrower and sure-fire untapped future star after 3 years of suck just you wait and see Justin Fields .

Actually, this amazing game log was a month after the article.

The game they were referencing was actually this.

16/23, 169 yards, 1 touchdown, 0 interceptions.

Didn't Ryan Clark also predict that Caleb Williams will lead the Bears to the playoffs? Is there any team he is predicting to miss the playoffs?

Incidentally, EVERYONE at ESPN (Clark, Riddick, and the rest of their analysts) absolutely LOVES Jayden Daniels and have anointed him as the favorite for ROTY. If Daniels turns out to be better than Williams, Poles is going to be run out of town.

The league collectively decided he was worth a 6th round pick. Maybe a 4th if it all breaks the right way.

Somebody reported that he’s splitting first team reps now.

Not a great sign for washed Russell Wilson.

I believe he meant he is going to become the starter. It was just bad syntax.
