Personally, I prefer that Jason stays on his podcast. I like his format, being able to speak for as long as he wishes and without having to censor himself.

Bernstein/Grote was actually entertaining, whatever Mitch does it will be terrible. The station has never been worse than it is now, Parkins leaving improves it slightly until the inevitable new horrible lineup emerges.

I like Grote, but I dont want him on the air every day in a regular show. He is perfect in his current role. He can fill in at times and does the reporter role.

I used to love Goff, but I dont want him back anymore either. He had his shot and wasted it.

I’m honestly shocked and confused that anyone thought parkins was worth hiring.

Even if he wasn't woke Parkins is one of the worst Chicago sports radio hosts ever.

The question isn't who will replace him. But, will the replacement be woke? Will trash B&L be broken up to spread their poison talk past 10-2?

Parkins helped usher in the boring slow paced limited guest and phone calls long host monologue or predominantly talk between
hosts Score era. Parkins has been a destructive force to the Score on three fronts.

Be careful, you'll summon that smug guy who says it's actually better when live radio is just some dude telling you what's what for hours on end.

While Parkins is associated with the Score's turn away from callers and spontaneity, I'm not sure he really ushered it in. It was always going to happen anyway. Audacy decided that they don't do talk radio, they create non-linear streaming content that also happens to run live on public airwaves: in case you'll miss our podcast, listen live. Being short on idiosyncratic personality but long on industry connections, he was the right man for the job.

I was never able to warm up to a Syracuse grad who worked hard all his life to be in sports talk radio and successfully did so. Maybe the rest of America will, or at least the woebegone part of America that watches FS1 all day.

I'd love to see Danny Mac welcomed back and paired with Bern-Stein in the afternoons. That would actually be appointment radio for me. Spiegel does nothing for me. Neither does Lawrence. Put those two in the mornings with Leela.

No chance. Mac was checked out before he got cancelled. He's lost his fastball...Bernstein would walk all over him.

I think the most likely outcome is what Ogelthorpe wrote but as a guy who called sportstalk "the last bastion of AM talk radio",, how about Jonathon Brandmeier . They did it in New York with Don Imus.

That was a different situation. Imus was at WNBC when NBC sold 660 to Emmis, and WFAN had never been able to program a competitive morning show, so they just left him in place and concentrated on all the other dayparts. It would have been like if when the Score moved to 670, they punted mornings and left Pat Cassidy.

Brandmeier has been out of the game for 10 years now.

I agree there's probably no chance. Maybe Danny B would re-energize the ol Danny Mac. Doesn't have to be a 5 hour show. Make it 3. Put Larry back in the evenings where he belongs, replaying other shows' stuff.

They should put Holmes back in the evening if they don't get rid of him outright, but he'll probably stay mid-days or get shifted to the afternoon. I'd be surprised if Holmes, Spiegal and Bernstein weren't hosting post changes daily in mid-day or afternoons even though this would be a time to actually reboot vs. tired/condescending/woke, etc. voices lecturing everyday if you don't subscribe to their brand of identify politics.

Jason has a remarkable level of self satisfaction. He makes a livable salary and might be more than a lower end mid days deal on the Score.

I looked up that podcast on youtube. It had 16K views from two weeks ago. He can't be making any more than beer money from that.

How about any hosts that lean left politically, takes the side of whatever anti-conservative take that may intersect with sports or just be plain political in nature , espouses any left wing or liberal views ?

I'll channel Ogie here, sports podcasts can get crazy niche, but they manage to do a good job of entertaining without immersing themselves in the "Culture Wars." I generally only listen to White Sox podcasts, but Sox Machine gives you a sober take on the White Sox, and has a little bit of fun along the way, without insulting the listeners or doing any political grandstanding. From the 108 is focused on "guy talk" and having fun and, again, manages to avoid serious cultural pontificating. It doesn't seem that hard, I don't know why terrestrial radio can't figure it out.

Shouldn't tell you anything. Life long democrat. Always have voted democrat. Gonna vote for Harris. And I hate the woke. I especially hate the ones that are phony woke. Which includes Larry and Bernstein. They don't believe most of the woke things they say. They just say it to pretend to be righteous and virtuous. So many like them.

Do you honestly think Bernstein thinks somebody with a dick should play sports with the girls? But, in his mind, he has to say he loves it.
