this is such a tragic story, and the drunk driver deserves a huge prison sentence.

on a sidenote, these types of stories remind me of this unsolved mystery from decades ago--gloria shulze. she killed a young SADD college student who was on her way to pick up a drunk friend to drive her home as a DD. tragic irony. but she skipped town after making bail, and was never found until she had already been dead for 5 years. this past april, it was found that she had changed her identity and moved to canada. she died of cancer in 2019. she even got another DUI in 2009. fucking sad.

A sad reminder that in the age of Uber Lyft ride share etc, there is no excuse for driving drunk.

Yes there is. Picking up the car the next day. Need an Uber to drive me home in my own car.
