Pappy had Jeremy Roenick on today and during the interview he told JR that "he left the score because he wanted to do TV, Webio and some other stuff".

 Is this the same guy who was hanging out at WLS, sent out feelers to WGN and another station, then had to settle for webio? Boy oh boy, I wish I could lie like that.

Do you think, if he could do things over again, he would have taken the 800K offer or whatever it was...or is he such a stubborn hard ass that he just couldn't ever deal with it?

Not in a million years did he think he would be escorted out of the building that Friday. He thought he could hardball WSCR as had been done successfully in the past by others in the industry. He was wrong.

It probably didn't fully hit him that he was done until he got home and told Bebe what had happened.

If he could do it again, he would have taken the money. No doubt. He'll have nightmares about that for the rest of his life.

He would lie and say no, but I gotta believe he knew then what he knows now, he would take it in a second.

Funny this came up because at the end of his show he shared a story.

He said steve dahl gave him bad advice when he left the score, he said dahl told him to take the money, north turns around and rips dahl for begging people to listen to him and says dahl has lost his fastball...

Pappy just said he didnt take the money because he didnt want to do what do what dahl is doing, begging for listeners (but just 15 minutes ago he told JR that he wanted to do other things  ) that is.....uh, mike begs for listners everyday, says dahl is hurting is icon status because he is sending girls out with signs, but its ok for pappy to show up on wgn to wash windsheilds? Pappy has totally lost it.

If anyone gets a chance listen to the last 5 minutes of the webio, its priceless, it really is.

How could he not be regretting it? He's coming up on 400K lost since he left the SCORE. You cannot get that money back unless the next contract is for 1.2 million per and begins immediately at the beginnng of the year.

He could have pursued dontfademe.com while also working at the SCORE.

He has to be, by acting like he isnt is just his way of making himself feel better about it. He thought he had a market for his services, it wasnt there, huge mistake.

North probably isn't too worried because, as he says, the economy really isn't in bad shape...

I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner, Pappy got the Joan Esposito syndrome. NBC5 cut her million dollar salary in half so she walked. Now she's hustling condo time-shares & broadcasting skills. I wonder if that pays a half mil a year for a couple hours work a day!

I've said it before. This is his last chance. I mean the Comcast show. The Dontfademe scam will end soon because he's not very good at that either. And now his prices are a lot higher. I'd say he has less than five customers. The radio market is spiraling and NO ONE will come close to that 800 G's he passed on.

A couple of the on air people on my fav station got axed out here in Rockford. I'm sure they made peanuts but it shows no one is throwing a mil around much less 40 or 50 g's. anymore.

I would beg to differ. It has cost him much more than 400K. He has spent much money as well trying to develop all this 3rd rate media.
