That's exactly what someone that is obviously ducking would say.

I will answer your bet as soon as you answer my question.

LGBTQ Guy again shilling for Field's and his 15.5 points per game. Hey pronoun warrior, if Caleb wears a dress to the stadium next week, will his "bravery' to do that win you over?

You've actually already "answered" my bet by ducking.

I can't duck it when I asked first.

For those who love power ranking polls Bears are ranked 22nd in SI poll.

Of course there is concern. He’s a Johnny Football-tier head case (I would argue about an equal talent too) who gets a pass because he expresses it in a way that challenges traditional masculinity. He wilts when the going gets tough, he looks just as bad as in the pros as he did when he played T25 teams at USC.

If he were a dog like Jalen Hurts he could probably translate his above-average physical talents into being a fringe T10 QB in the league (maybe a couple T5 years in his prime). Instead he is the closest thing to a woman who has ever played in the league. I think the bottom falls out on this sooner than it did on Bryce Young. I’ve seen nothing but red flags ever since this time last year on him.

Manziel’s issues had more to do with substance abuse than being a head case.

Different side of the same coin. Not mentally up to the task of the NFL. Does anyone see anything at all in Caleb Williams track record or just personality in public that makes you think he is particularly good at handling adversity?

Because for the job he is applying for he needs an almost superhuman ability to endure negativity and bad outcomes. I don’t think he’s even average in that trait. Its instantly disqualifying, I have no idea why they drafted him 1.1.

Sociopaths like Brady and Rodgers handle it. I think Mahomes is just probably a genius and he plays for a genius.

It's hard to tell what's foremost in Williams' mind at this juncture, but it is a concern that maybe it is his brand that is foremost. I hope not.

I would argue going for 4 touchdowns against the second best team in the country last year in a season that had already gone off the rails would qualify as handling at least some adversity. They lost but that's because USC gave up 52 points.

You all can't say that I didn't warn you.

Btw, the kid who went crying to his mommy as an adult, with finger nails she painted, should have been taught how to handle adversity. By his dad.

Watch his complete meltdown on and off the field during and after the Notre Dame. It should have relegated him to being a third round pick at best. But there are social forces that excuse Caleb Williams’ particular behavior and prevent these obvious critiques from getting said out loud.

The pros won’t accommodate it though. If you suck you suck, and he just doesn’t have that Josh Allen type overwhelming talent where he can be whoever he wants to be and still be good through sheer power of his physical traits.

Allen was brutal in his first two games and most of his rookie season.

Josh Allen doesn’t flaunt his gender dysphoria as a way of provoking people who don’t think girls can play football. There is a social component to Williams that simultaneously shields him from very legitimate criticism while also being disqualifying for the job he wants.

The league probably loves the idea of Williams being successful the same way they love that Taylor Swift has become the NFL’s most prized mascot. A gender bender quarterback is a moonshot dream come true for a league that wants to grow its audience at any and all costs. The difference is that Swift does her work for a skybox while Williams has to actually interact with coaches, teammates and opponents.

It’s just not compatible. Maybe if he was more physically gifted he could brute force it through, but he’s not. You saw DJ Moore boil over in his eighth quarter of playing with Williams, how much do you think is happening that you don’t see?

By the way, he also sucks and should have gone in the third round (or later) off what he did in 2023 at USC.

You said something similar about the Fields thread.

I think Williams will pull out of this, but something needs to be done about the offensive line--and quickly.

Williams’ androgyny has been well known since college. His teammates loved him in spite of or because of it. If he plays well, it’ll be fine.

Somebody compared him to Prince and that seems about right. Now he just has to be successful enough to overlook the weirdness.
