I listened to his 50 minutes of ramblings, laughing and stupidity. Oh my God, is he a dumb ass. And I think he might be insane like some of you have mentioned.

1. You notice how he wanted to make it clear that "I was the choice". Why say that? Cuz he's regretting saying "no" over a stupid podcast that can't be more money then what they were offering. Then I think Mitch was offended by that and pulled the offer. As he should have.

2. If a podcast is more money, don't you think a guy like Bernstein would jump to spotify for that shit? It can't be more money.

3. He could have done a podcast for Auducy like Bernstein and Spiegel do. Granted, I'll bet Goff's deal with spotify is a set salary no matter his listeners. Where I've heard Parkins, Spiegel and Bernstein say they get paid based on downloads, views and all of that shit. Still, if Goff has an audience he could have done both and done well with auducy.

4. Goff wanted to make history by having the first "Two black hosts, non athletes" doing a radio show in a major market. Guess what? He did make history. He's the first black guy to turn down a "Drive time slot" in a major market. Top 3 market. Chicago. Unbelievable.

5. I guarantee you everybody in the industry is stunned and laughing at Goff for this stupid move. They just can't say it. So I'll say it for them.

Doesn't everyone here hate The Score? Isn't it dying?

So why would it be a good career move for him to go there rather than the good jobs he has now that he enjoys and also gives him a good quality of life?

I am about halfway through. It is a testament to his perseverance. I forgot how long he was in the shadows.

You think Chuck Garfein is living the life from his white sox pre game job that he has had forever? That's a slightly above entry level job that anyone with ambition/talent takes as a stepping stone.

Maybe I am completely ignorant of the pay scale, but even now a Score daypart host has to be making a minimum of 100K. I don't think that's true of pre and post hosts. They have to be behind the ex athletes on the show and there is only so much money to go around.

Experts and "guests" please correct me if I'm wrong on this

I would think an on camera full season TV pre post host gig has gotta pay 100,000 a year in a major market .

They have to pay Gill, Perdue and then Goff. I could believe the station accepts those shows as loss leaders but how much can they really be willing to blow on a job that almost anyone can do without an impact on ratings?

Isn't it an admission that a Score host makes more if he were willing to make the jump?

Fun times!

Caleb Williams shows progress.
White Sox on the verge of history.
Brain rattled Jason Goff playing the victim after Score poisoning deal collapse.

I always thought as a man, you are not to be concerned with what another man is making?

A lot of pocket watchers around here.

Sad.

What is the actual audience size for pre and post-game shows focusing on a floundering team like the Bulls? The game broadcasts themselves don't draw that many viewers, do they?

Goff turning this down might be the first smart thing he has done in years. Radio is dying and there is no job security at any Entercom station. They could literally shut down local sports on 670 tomorrow and it wouldn't shock me after what they did to WCBS.

His Bulls gig is pretty safe as once you have a job under Reinsdorf, you can't get fired. Look at how long the White Sox pre-post people have been there.

Goff makes enough to not want to return to The Score airwaves. I think that's the best answer. I also don't see those guys working hard to have a daily sports radio show either.

Agreed. Who cares what Goff is doing. He's not on my radio anymore. Let the guy live his life.

I have never heard that one. We have had our greatest moments of progress due to one man concerned with what the other man is making.

Bad thoughts from your hot takes machine. Maybe that flies unquestioned on the super secret facebook page and has lulled you into a thinking it makes sense

That's a terrible answer. He wanted the job at the Score.

He wouldn't give up his podcast which seems to be something you do if you really want a job.

You know what the hell I mean Good Dolphin. First of all, this ain't the same thing and you know it.

You all are trying to compare what he makes on his own and pre/post vs what he would make at The Score. We're not talking about million dollar athletes and setting some kind of cap ceiling and how it make effect your favorite team. I know you know that Good Dolphin, but you just want to be Beardown-lite. All good.

At the end of the day, as I've mentioned recently, I haven't listened to sports talk much in the past 5 years so I don't know what's going on and don't really care.

I don't have a super secret facebook. I aint hard to find on there, or twitter for that matter.

Hey Camps, Goff aint gonna fuck you bro. If this were a discussion on what Grote or Rongey or some other host were making you wouldnt have jack shit to say about it.

Badrogue this board still hates black people for the most part, including yourself.

Unfortunately, Nas lets the the racist inmates run the asylum.

I have met about half of the regular posters, and I know that is false. But I get where you are coming from with the posting styles of certain folks.

You're the only one who sees color here. The majority of the board is rooting for Caleb and he is Black and has pink finger nails.

Oh, bull-fcking-sht!!!! Now yeah I'm probably exaggerating a little, but don't give me that "I don't see color" nonsense.

Caleb plays for your favorite team, so of course it's in your best interest to root for him regardless of color.

You're better than that, Juiced. BRogue, not so much.
