You mean the guy who vilified Tommy Williams in the most disgusting of slurs not to his face while he still had a show but as he walked out the door and didn't have a voice to respond? Or the guy who did the same to Murph? Yeah, that's not the guy I would choose to be in my foxhole.

I'm a little surprised they left Bernstein in middays, honestly. He had to take the hit for the Jazz-Blazers Series And Social Justice Revue, though not as much as Goff did, but I would think they would have considered him to have atoned for that. Maybe he did up until he invented a reason to get mad at a Barstool B-teamer.

It would have seemed like a logical move to me given how this all shook out. Sir and Spiegs is definitely not a show made for prime time. Right now, Bernstein is the biggest name at the station (once again). He should be holding down the cornerstone time slot.

The only moving that Bernsie is doing is moving out of this job. The word is, they are going to try to convince him to exit on his terms in the next year. Otherwise he will not be offered a contract when the current deal is up. He is generally disdained by the staff, and his passion for the job has disappeared.

No way this is true.

But they'll probably try and cut his salary and he may say no. Given they just went bankrupt they aren't exactly in a position to get anyone better to replace him to the point where Goff turned them down so it likely was a pretty poor salary offer.

I don't know about all that, but he is pretty much going through the motions these days. Like I said, they'll let him continue to do so, maybe for less money, until he decides to semi-retire and get the cushy NFP gig he's been angling for all these years.

Bernstein may be the biggest name, but does he draw the biggest audience?

He is likely a negative WAR host at this point.

I guess we will see if it was the Holmes effect that bumped the ratings.

Wouldn't one problem with moving Bernstein back to afternoon drive be that Spiegel despises him, or at least did despise him at some point? Of course that could make for compelling radio, but we're in the post-Appreciating Greatness era, and there's no room for conflict, only Being Totally Here for good guys being good.

My scenario would have been Bernstein solo, maybe with a good producer who could occasionally interject

Holmes and Spiegs move to middays. Spiegs wouldn't pull a power play because he has seen what that cold, cruel world looks like.

Holmes co-hosted his first afternoon show with Matt Spiegel on Monday. Bernstein and fill-in host Mark Grote introduced the new show during transition, and they had a pleasant — although perhaps performative — exchange.

This is complete bullshit, larry walked in with cookies for everyone and gave dan a big hug, which was welcomed with open arms and a big smile on video.

Yeah every transition this week has been a big love fest.

You can tell when my mom is angry with one of me or my siblings because she is more demonstratively nice publicly. I tell my wife I'd rather she give me a "hi" when we come over than for her to throw her arms around me.

The Bernstein and Larry Holmes Show was wall-to-wall woke. It'll be interesting if Harris and Spiegel let their co-hosts commandeer the shows to push their woke agendas or if a line has already been drawn in the sand to set limits on non-sports personal woke agendas.

I am sure Spiegs is woke. He just doesn’t overdue that to his audience. He is more of a humanist than woke maybe?

These guys are woke beyond belief, thats why i dont personally pay attention anymore. just the other day they waxed poetic about some guy being held back in the lineup due to "racial undertones" when that was far from it, the manager just thought the guy didn't come from the same kind of background he'd want to support. PFTB.

Sounds like you aren’t attention since “just the other day”.

You guys are delusional for thinking i or anyone else for that matter has any interest in the score. Have you ever interned there or know someone that does? If you did you'd never give it the attention you lavish on it everyday. It's a toxic environment that isn't worth the time people spend to post about it. I haven't paid attention to the station for ever and my life is better for it.
