...Rocked, was underrated, and gets enough mention on this board to warrant a thread.

He was great, not only in Caddyshack (he made the movie, IMO), But also in Mary TYler Moore and Too Close For Comfort.

He was hilarious, dating back to when Knight played bumbling newsman "Ted Baxter" on the "Mary Tyler Moore Show" in the '70s. I've also got the original "Caddyshack" on DVD, plus WGN America, the former WGN Superstation on DIRECTV 307, recently aired 4 classic "Too Close for Comfort" episodes from the early '80s. It's too bad he's no longer with us... :( If I'm not mistaken, I could've sworn Ted also did some voiceover work in the late '60s, as the narrator of the "Batman" cartoons...

Ivan, you might be right, but I think there was a different voice in the later years, and I'm old enough to remember when it was on back in the late '70s...

I liked Too Close For Comfort but Monroe was a homo...not that there's anything wrong with that.

That's the reason why the show was called "Too Close For Comfort".

"Monroooe! Get your hands off my ass!"

Kid, here's a frightening thought...You're absolutely right about "Monroe"!  The actor who played "Monroe" on "Too Close for Comfort", Jm. J. Bullock, came out of the closet long after the series left the air. Jm. J. actually admitted that in an interview back in the '90s, and I thought there were tabloid stories about him that made him come clean.

I like Ted Knight. And I don't trust any homos named Jm, but as Jm once said about Sex:
the pleasure is momentary, the position ridiculous, and the expense damnable.

That's a relief. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to watch my Tivo'd Dancing With the Stars, drink a Mojito, and update my Myspace status...

On "Too Close for Comfort", it seemed like Ted couldn't stand being in the same scene w/Jm., and while it was pronounced "Jim", that's how Jm. J. Bullock spelled his name. It's not a misprint.
