I mean, I've got people I know personally, or at least did when I was younger, doing the "I do my own research" bit on facebook right now.

But hey, maybe those people aren't real.

You read Facebook and want to sit here preaching to me about people who feed themselves a diet of shit information? Gmafb.

Hello, person arguing with someone they've never met on the internet and judging someone about reading what other people say on the internet.

I just don’t know what you’re complaining about. We get such blatant lies and hypocrisy from our government and the NYT, but you’re worried about what bots on Reddit are saying? Again, have you ever heard this shit in real life? Your answer genuinely seems to be no.

And if you don’t like what you see on Facebook I would ask why you continue to use the website.

I think "I do my own research" person exists. As I said, I know at least a couple people who are actual humans who will randomly start talking about fluoride and other conspiracies.

I enjoy seeing how far the rabbit hole goes for "I do my own research" person.

If it’s about a medical treatment, sure, that makes sense.

If it’s about whether jet fuel can melt steel, then no, there’s not a ton of merit to it.

If you go back and read primary documents/raw data cited by experts, it's not uncommon to find that the information they are citing doesn't support the argument that the expert is making. There's something to be said for "doing your own research".

My favorite example of this dynamic remains this one: https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2013/04/grad-student-who-shook-global-austerity-movement.html.

Ok, but that’s not the same thing as finding credible the idea that mud flows wiped out an ancient civilization responsible for man’s greatest architectural achievements.

Oh damn, I just did my own research and Aaron Rodgers really does believe in Tartaria. If he also believes that Jews are Polish-Turkic hybrids, he can come post here.

I just wish our federal government, Pfizer, the NYT, etc. got the same level of scrutiny as bots on Reddit do. We are at DEFCON 0 missiles in the air panic over bots spreading conspiracies to bots on Xitter but the alarm level over our institutions being rotten to the core remains a distant concern.

Almost like these people don’t really exist in appreciable numbers and are just being astroturfed to keep dumb liberals panicking over nothing instead of paying attention to the lies they take for granted every day.

He sure did.

And then Rogers goes out and bus tosses Williams after the game too.

What a locker room cancer he is,

Swallowed the cap hit, but it effectively removed a cancer with declining skills. The Raiders are losers too.

They should've won yesterday. I'm surprised Rodgers hasn't cut the kicker yet.
