No one wants Vucevic either.
https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nba/chi ... 9bad9fdd8a

Quote:
Vucević is a hard sell on the trade market because he is overpaid. He’s also overrated, according to Bleacher Report’s Grant Hughes, who in a new article Tuesday ranked Vucević as the No. 4 most overrated NBA player of the last five years.

“The Chicago Bulls certainly overrated Nikola Vučević when they sent out Wendell Carter Jr., Otto Porter Jr. and a pair of future first-round picks to land him in 2021,” Hughes said.

“Vučević has mostly been an empty-calorie stat-stuffer … he's essentially a high-usage offensive piece who can't score efficiently because he never draws fouls, doesn't shoot enough threes and converts his low rate of rim attempts at a middling clip. The 33-year-old's steady diet of mid-range jumpers is offensive poison, and he's been a catastrophically negative force on defense in three of the last five years.”

Will they win more games than the Sox? Probably.

A lot of the NBA cognoscenti on this site did as well. Whoops!

"three year window".

Golly, if only Lonzo hadn't gotten hurt, who knows how many layups he could've missed.

I am starting to think only women make Leila squirt like that female Bears running back coach.

They shouldn't have resigned him to a 3 year deal. All of this was true and they still decided to resign him to remain competitive.

At this point in his career, he shouldn't be playing more than 20-25 minutes a night and that should be dependent on matchups. For the current Bulls team, he's probably still around 30 minutes a night and probably starting.

Yes. But they wont say that. But I am not sure looking at this roster if there is any way they win very many games. Way too guard heavy. And what happens with Lavine? Does he pout and try to play hero ball? He says he is going to buy into helping the younger players but tI highly doubt that

I love the rookie Buzelis. Think they got the steal of the lottery when they got him as late as they did.

if they can sag for Flagg they've got the start of a really nice core.

If he can play, I don't see how they could keep him off the floor for long. Maybe they limit his minutes or have him in a bench role to start, but if the team stinks and he's contributing, there's no way they won't increase his time. The time will still lose plenty with the defensive issues.

I think issues with fouls will be what limits his time early in the season.

Doctor of Style, didn't you report from back in the day that Ayo and Tucker-Horton hated each other and that was what drove Horton to withdraw his commitment to Illinois?

Bulls need a new coach. I watched some of the replay. Is this really going to be their starting lineup? One guy with no basketball instincts and 4 guys who can't guard?

Why did I bet over 25 wins? I'm a moron.

The Bulls do need a new coach for sure, but it's not Billy's fault he's starting guys who can't guard, literally nobody on the team can. Patrick Williams gets labeled as a defender just because hes terrible offensively but he sucks on defense too.

I understand but there's 3 guards out there and none of them can defend. Add in no rim protector for those 3 and it's a disaster. You're not even giving the team a chance against your opponents best lineup.

Yep. It started back in their AAU days. Tucker Horton was originally a Team Rose AAU player because of the Simeon Robert Smith and Derrick Rose connections. He wasn't receiving many looks nor ranked in the top 100-150 players because Team Rose never plays in EYBL. As a result he switched over to the MAC IRVIN FIRE. Who does play on the EYBL AAU circuit. Once he did that all of the High Majors took notice and his recruiting took off. Only problem was that the Team was Ayo's Team and Ayo was not only a Fire but also a Morgan Park kid. And Morgan Park was the Fire's school. And Nick Irvin was both the Fire and Morgan Park High's coach.
And Chin Coleman (who was U of Is Chicago Assistant Guy) was also a Former Fire AAU coach. Once it got out that they were recruiting Tucker Horton, the Irvins pulled a power play and told Underwood that Ayo would not sign if they signed Tucker Horton.

From that point forward Underwood pulled the plug on Tucker Horton's recruitment. There was a ton of backstory with that. Irvins/Robert Smith. Likely Tucker Horton's and Ayo's family and likely between AYO/Tucker Horton. Plus Simeon Morgan Park rivalry.

I personally hated because with both being Chicago guys it would been great for U of I's rebuilding program. Guess it just wasn't meant to be.

Lonzo one of the better defenders in the league.

Yep. Copy White shouldn't he anything more than a 6th or 7th man gunner off the bench. And if you're going to start him then Giddey has to come off the bench. And if you are going to play Ayo, Carter, THT, and Lonzo in your regular rotation (feel like I'm missing someone) then that's 7 guards for 2 backcourt positions. Phillips and Matt's should play front court minutes by default. Or Jalen Smith has to play a lot of 4 along with Vooch with the Paw at the 3.

Billy D insists on these 3 and 4 guard lineups season after season and it is killing the squad. Whenever the 4th comes you know he's going to go 4 guards with his mad scientist bullshit and it rarely works. They aren't a playoff team this season I don't think but there can be some semblance of development. With him at the helm however, forget it.

He was. Not really faulting him but he looked like a shell of his former self and already sitting out game 2

great win tonight. Their defense is truly terrible but this team is gonna score a lot of points this year.

Milwaukee is actually a good matchup for them as their defense blows too. And they are slow as shit with all of those old non athletic guys. The Bulls were getting anywhere they wanted on the floor.

Ball movement by the Bulls was great to see. But with Zach hanging around the hero ball style of play always looms. He doesn't know how to play any other way. Just can't win like that though.
Good to see Billy D not yank the Paw in the 4th as he usually does. Actually paid off because he gave them 10 points in the 4th.

Yikes, Milwaukee looked really bad. And as I just got done reaming the 3 starting guards, they shoot a combined 60% for 77 points. So, nevermind?

I guess we're going to have to sit our asses down and let the boys run wild and see if eventually if some cohesiveness takes place.
