Just tell Larry that we know something about that student he went out with for a drink that he does not know.

That's she's really a man?

Where would you take Leila for dinner on a Tuesday night between 7:00 and 9:00?

As I've said, I wouldn't want to date her. I don't like her. But for somebody that does...

She's a local famous person The dinner can be planed and ready at 7pm. Plenty of good restaurants with in a mile of the NBC studios. She and her dude can call that in. Literally have it ready upon arrival. Enough time to talk to what ever ass hole she's dating. Sit and talk for a couple hours. How lovely. Get it?

Then she goes back, at 9pm, to the studio to write a script for the stupid Bulls preseason game on a Tuesday. And some other stupid shit that happened in sports. For her 3 minutes on air. Then she's done with her "tough job".

10:30.

So this dude just has to wait for 10:30 to pick her up and bang her.

It's simple. Don't feel sorry for her. Many other women have it tougher in their quest to get their man.

Then after this Tuesday she's extra peppy for "Leila Wenesdy" with Dan Bernstein. Cuz she just got banged.

somehow, Dan Bernstein can work a 4 hour radio show each day with five minutes of prep, but it takes Leila 11 hours for her 9 minutes on air.

and there have to be sports interns and editors who write the script. Again, Giangreco was great at that job and spent a fraction of the time in prep.

That's why I laugh at how much she says she "works" for a 2-3 minute update of obvious video highlights and scripted content. She counts watching games as her job though so that's how you get to her saying she works 12 hours a day on weekends (but then says she doesn't even watch the Bears game live this past Sunday because it was too early).

This is kinda the problem with the WSCR staff, nobody there that really knows or understands football, so they cede the more interested Bears fans to pods.

You also have hosts that are not from Chicago, or guys that are more interested in comic books or music hosting shows and is leads to hours and hours of inane content where you never get an original thought on anything, Larry might get all lathered up talking about a random comic book character, but he's not going to point out that Nate Davis blew his block because he came off the ball high and got out leveraged by a DT.

The hosts are putting on a show that only interests an imaginary peer group that they want to impress, more of hyper niched sports/politics hybrid than a general sports yakker where they happily dismiss 80-90% of the potential sports talk listening audience daily.

Many of the old WSCR listeners have moved on to pods and maybe even the somewhat painful AM 1000 content just to get solid Bears coverage.

During transition Marshall Harris doesn't seem impressed and doesn't genuflect to Larry's "let me share my vast knowledge and explain it so common folk can understand it" shtick.

Marshall seems to be easy going (thus far). While he probably holds many of Bernstein's ugly social/political opinions, he doesn't seem comfortable (or willing) to express them (thus far) on the show. Bernstein is still dropping in his angry opinions on these topics, but hasn't been getting any follow-ups by Marshall yet. In the past, Lawrence would normally agree and then repeat them in a very slow manner or take them even further.

So, the show is better if they are able to keep their non-sports thoughts out of the conversation. That is asking too much from Bernstein, but ideally Marshall will keep steering it back to sports.

On sports, Marshall seems to be a casual fan. He's not an "insider" like Dan or Lawrence are, and he does lack knowledge on topics that you would think he would be aware of....but he's not taking himself too seriously and can laugh about things which is a major (positive) change than most of the hosts who think they are experts/insiders on all topics and must take stands on every non-sports topic on the air.

Larry and Lil' Danny Bernstein are not insiders, they just regurgitate what the agents/team/players are feeding them, you are not going to get original takes or thoughts from either guy, seem both guys peaked as the Bears Hit (two words) guy. The Bears Hit guys (Bernstein, Larry, Zaidman, and Grote) all remain gainfully employed at the station, kind of a reward for not upsetting the paper soft McKaskey family. The position breeds lazy sports talk radio hosts as the Bears Hit dude is just carefully telling you what the Bears organization wants you to know, so the guys that have filled that position become proficient at repeating other peoples takes on everything. The same disease permeates the local Bears media, guys like Olin scare those dudes because he exposes them as malinformed crackpots, didn't the CHGO guys retreat to their safe spaces quickly when Olin called them out.

Same guys that told you Nagy was a genius and that Mitch was ready for, and I loved this take they all had, that Mitch was ready for "The 2.0 level" of the offense?

Those guys are "insiders", naw, really just the pied pipers of the in town stupid parade we get throughout the day on WSCR.

not really familiar with her. i heard her say on chsn that the bears had an 'elite defense' 2-3 times. ok. relatively speaking, i guess. today's nfl sees goff with a 'perfect' qb rating game and k. cousins throwing for 500+ yards in one game. no wonder the kids today laugh at jim hart and kenny stabler stats. hope they're aware that the nfl has changed the rules to encourage 45-39/4 hr games.

if the bears are allowing 300 yards per game and 4.6 yards per carry, i guess they have an elite defense in 2024.

Weasel Bernstein despicably mock laughed at Tua during his comments at his press conference coming back. Then Bernstein went on to praise Olin Kruetz for his wisdom who in the past he's demonized when he didn't work for the Score.

Find the local media to be similar, it is almost laughable listening to the takes you hear from the WSCR hosts and the handful of "experts" they trot out to tell you what the team and agents want you to think.

There is not another team in the known universe that is celebrated for minimal accomplishments like the Chicago Cubs, but the Bears and the Bears media go to ridiculous places trying to defend the teams ownership. When someone starts to question the intelligence of a McKaskey family member the hosts on WSCR will quickly circle the wagons to protect them.

Happened almost every week during post game during the Nagy era, not sure how you missed it?

Guess we have to get out the 16 count Crayola box, don't worry, we don't need the 64 count box her, primary colors will suffice.

Will use my favorite example to dull the obtusity you have displayed and to protect you from the boards more....direct posters who will mercilessly mock you.

Ok, here we go, post game after an ugly Nagy loss, caller points out that the McKaskey's are terrible owners and that George McKaskey is an idiot, Hub tries to laugh it off, gives the scripted WSCR response "George has nothing to do with football decisions", and the laughably stupid, "nobody cares more about winning that George McKaskey", tried to dismiss the caller as silly, however, Olin was cohosting and quickly pointed out that the McKaskey's are the one's that hire the people that make the football decisions, so they are not only making the football decisions, they are making the ultimate football decisions, picking the people that pick the groceries.

There ya go, not you get it...and knowing is half the battle.

I don't consider Hub to be a host or an expert, but you are obviously correct about his constant defense of the ownership. Aside from him I don't remember any show defending the McCaskeys. The midday and afternoon shows have routinely painted george and his ilk to be well intentioned buffoons.

Now that Harris has had a bit of time to settle in to his new role, can we all agree that THIS SHOW SUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS?

It was an insult to Mark Grote that he got demoted from Cubs pre-post to the Bears beat, but it's an even bigger one that he got passed over for a weekday show in favor of the guy who used to do sports on the infamously third-place channel 2.

Someone here pointed out that his Grobstein impression wasn't really that far removed from his normal voice.

Has Dan offered his fake outrage at Penn State for the two subhumans charged with rape? I assume he will bring up the past Penn State nightmare and make it about him and his family somehow. That was a very bad period for Dan and the Score. Still can’t fully understand why Dan took such an interest in a college football program about 600 miles away.
