The 6th rd pick thing is more a reflect of Poles and his ineptitude as a GM than anything. Pittsburgh also fleeced him on the Claypool trade too. So what else is new?

Seems like he is using "his" guys that know his system. Homer/Everett/Carter all know his system and are being used in place of better players.

Poles should have known Waldron's scheme would take time to learn and tried to find some OL guys that knew Waldren's system to help with the learning curve. Obviously they are not picking it up quickly.

Reminds me of Nagy's scheme and how he had to simplify it for Fields when it was too much for him to concept. Waldren is not teaching a seasoned vet like G.Smith and needs to realize the difference in a vet and a rookie.

Fields was 23rd in QBR in 2023. Guess that is the reason the Bears only got a 6th round pick.

Look, most of us liked Fields and wanted to succeed. But his inability to secure the ball and put up robust passing yards are a rinse/repeat story.

Yes Caleb has played against poor defenses. He is still showing a lot with running a fast offense, calling audibles, scanning the field and finding open receivers, taking care of the ball, and having pocket awareness. It has been impressive.

The throws to Allen were great- the one in the corner and the 3d down play between two defenders. The fakes on the TD to Kmet were also impressive.

For 2 weeks straight guys were running free and he received absolutely no pressure in either game. He played mostly against backups against Carolina too.. With his recent great play he is still only 27th in QBR.

And truth be told he's exhibiting the same traits that he did in college. Bumslaying Shitty teams. We'll see if it is the start of something or just simply bumslaying at its finest.
