Seeing the reviews for "Quantum of Solace," I'm worried that it might be a letdown...I wasn't expecting much from Casino Royale and was pleasantly surprised...I hope this isn't the inverse...

The reviews from here are not hot.
Overseas esp Uk people are going nuts over it .Lots of shoutouts to past Bond.
I think what is troubling to people here is it is the first Bond Sequel. It is not a stand alone movie you need to see Casino to follow the movie .You know how we Americans hate to have to remeber stuff from a previous movie.Remember the biggest set of sequel movies have a recap at the front of the movie to remind us what went on in the last.Star Wars for those that do not know what I was talking about

I've heard some less than flattering things about the current James Bond in Daniel Craig, and this was before his first "007" film...For those who are craving to see "007" with Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton & Pierce Brosnan, Spike TV, DIRECTV 241, I think has a marathon of classic Bond action films on the horizon.

Ugh...

I just sat through this gunk.

To summarize: Preposterous, unbelievable and other than a few great action segments - not very entertaining.

Gimme Jason Bourne over James Bond any day of the week.

Sounds like the Bears game, with the exception of the few great action segments.

Actually, many of the reviews I've seen have said it tries to hard to be a Bourne film, and not a Bond film...still haven't seen it, been sick all weekend...hopefully feel better after work today...

If the latest "007" adventure got ripped by the critics, why did it make $70.3 million in its opening weekend?

Because most movie goers couldn't care less about what the critics think...

That's very true. But keep in mind, just because a lot of people go see a movie, doesn't necessarily mean it's any good. See Shrek 3 ($322 Million after a $121M opening weekend) and Austion Powers 3 (which did boffo box office compared to it's two (superior) predecessors for further evidence.

I'll be interested to see how well "Quantum of Solace" does next weekend at the movies. The latest Disney animated feature, "Bolt" with the voices of John Travolta & "Hannah Montana" Miley Cyrus premieres Friday, and there's already a good buzz on this movie, geared towards families...
