Looks like about a 40 minute drive from my office. I might just have to block out 3 hours and go for lunch.

I have to get there. It looks too good.

Oh I see you won’t meet me in Champaign but you’ll block out 3 hours for a hamburger luncheon with Telegram Sam

It was more convenient for me on Milwaukee Avenue but they closed up that shop. I do give the burger my good dolphin two flippers up.

I think they'd be a bigger name if they became more of a sit down restaurant in the manner of Kuma's, but I don't think that's what they want to be. It's really good stuff.

Also, if you sign up for their list they have two for one nights and $7 burgers nights.

That $7 deal might be the best deal you can find for a burger in the metro area.

As good as the burgers are at BRGRBELLY, their fries might be be even better. I really need to try to get there more often than I do.

Joydog is back at the Montrose Saloon on Friday 9/23. I plan on hitting up TS's place of business for the pre-show meal again.

I'm still offended that Telegram Sam once told me my advice for grilling chicken was horrible but didn't go into any further detail thus meaning that the rest of my life I am destined to grill chicken poorly without ever knowing how I am messing it up.

It's like if Tom Brady told me "You suck at throwing a football" and then just walked away.

Grill it semi indirect. Put it on the burner you set to medium low and set the other ones to medium or medium high. The total grill temp around 350. It may take a little longer depending on the size of the chicken.

fuck that.

We saw this on America's Test Kitchen and it does help to keep boneless skinless chicken from drying out.

(4) 6-8 oz chicken breasts
Brine in 1-1/4 cup cold water with 1/4 cup salt and 1/4 cup sugar for 30-60 minutes
Dry with paper towels
mix 2 tsp non-fat dry milk powder and 1/4 tsp pepper
sprinkle each breast with small amount of dry mix
lightly spray the coated chicken with Pam til moistened
grill over medium-high heat for 2-1/2 minutes, flip, brush with glaze or BBQ sauce, flip and repeat, flip and repeat, flip and repeat until done (brush with glaze each time).

fuck most of that.

Boyd wins the thread in terms of practical advice. But what I would do is just get grill marks on them and finish them in the oven.

Probably best not to use breasts at all. Stick with thighs.

Good idea.

After finishing 14,000 words of letters of rec last night, I was a bit punchy, and I fell asleep in a recliner. I then dreamed about a board meetup. The only person I know for sure who was there was Jurko. He was sitting behind me, sounding fat and stupid, and talking about something when he started crying a little. He sobbed his way through a speech about how Don Tiny was not there and the reason he wasn't there is because Don Tiny "tended to the gay end of the spectrum, and all of you hate him."

Everyone started giving Jurko shit, and then he said, "Wait...my bad. Not Don Tiny. I mean Caller Bob." Then Peter Griffin appeared (it was obviously meant to be 312) and started laughing his ass off.

We made it in yesterday. I eat a lot of burgers and I got to say it was a pretty damn good burger. My husband thought the fries were excellent and he doesn't use excellent a lot.

Stopped by before going to the jazz fest in Millennium Park. The September Burger is "All the Small Things" and it is a 1/2 lb. Burger topped with Granny Apple Smith Apple Cole Slaw, provolone, and apple wood smoked bacon on a toasted scratch made bun. The garlic-parm fries are the chef's kiss on this wonderful lunch on a delightful Sunday afternoon.

Had the Crabby Patty from wendys. After one bite I went back up and asked for a side of the crabby sauce. That sauce made your standard run of the mill wendy's burger pretty good but you definitely need to double up on the sauce.

So you were in Chicago, got a burger - but not at Telegram Sam's place, and bumped this thread anyway? Telegram Sam must be rolling over in his grave.

To be technical, he bumped it to talk about a burger he got at Wendy's.
